    The sun makes you hot. Standing in water cools you down a little, and once you have diamond armor it's actually hotter inside than outside.     AAs are designed to right click things. Block Gates only right click they right-click on the block one space away trying to place a block against it, in the adjacent space - they won't try if the adjacent space is already occupied.

    On this map, you can usually only gain hypothermia quickly when you're lagging - it happened to me during the first night once, and in the Nether another time. The only way you'll get hypothermia without the game glitching is if you stand in water at night, and even then it'll take half the night.

    Botania backported prismarine, Gany has the new stone types, bunnies existed in mob mods before 1.8, there's a fair amount of less random enchantment systems and I don't think we need the 1.8 one, slime blocks and banners are from mods in the first place, what else is there?     I can't possibly imagine fluiducts being more complicated than EnderIO glass conduits (which track amount of fluid per pipe, have differing transfer rates based on viscosity, and obey gravity) and Buildcraft pipes (track amount of fluid per pipe and you can have multiple fluids in one pipe)...

    They do. Makes nether travel unpractical, because every so often you'll come out of the portal inside a pigman. That said, if we're talking about mob traps, pigmen spawn in the Nether at any light level and fairly fast.

    Block gate right-clicks when you pipe something into it, or just breaks blocks instantly with no tools used. You can't get it to left-click with a tool.

    I'll agree that trenches are a bit overhyped, but you need at least a 2 high wall to prevent mobs from crowding outside your door.

    I recommend world backups instead of disabling hardcore. The latter lets you starve to death repeatedly with no long-term consequences, the former makes Minecraft work like most games, where dying makes you restore a save.
