    You're not alone in ic2 crops trouble. I've never really delved into it, but tried it in infitech2 3.x because it was in my quest log. I failed, looked it up online, tried again, and then I gave up.

    Infused seeds are easy to get going. Vitreous seeds produce 1 diamond, lucrum seeds produce 4 gold ingots, cognitio produce 64 paper, or 32 books, or 1 enchanted book. I find it useful to have the diamond and vitreous plots, at a minimum, so I don't have to keep making gold/diamond runs...

    Lucrum infused seeds drop 4 gold ingots, which you can alchemize. Pig zombie farming can produce gold swords.

    Thanks for the advice--didn't work, unfortunately. My assumption at this point is that the recipe got dropped by mistake.

    I ran into a problem while gathering mats for the magic mirror. I can't seem to craft the iconographic plates (no recipe), which are then converted into mirrored glass via shapeless crafting. Could I be missing some research? I have the Thaumic Iconograph and Magic Mirror researches done...

    That's how I remember it in the 2.x version of this modpack, which is why I was concerned that perhaps oregen for this current version might be bugged. I will follow Pyure's advice and dig more and see if it's spawning above or below, however.

    Admittedly, I only delved 6 levels deep in that vein and then dug horizontally, so if the quartzite is above or below I wouldn't have seen it. I'll take a more thorough look when I get home.

    Has anyone had any trouble finding quartzite? I hunted for hours to find a quartz vein and could only locate certus and barite in it. According to the ore gen guide quartzite should be in that vein. Ultimately I converted the certus to dust and centrifuged it for tiny piles of quartzite...

    Yup. I disagree with the gating of some of those cores. Especially the alchemy and farming cores. It is a nuisance having to manually slot in/out alchemical jars and farm by hand.

    If you only need red dye, an iron golem farm works well for producing stacks of red flowers, in addition to iron. It can be crafted early, too! Cobble, glass, water, lava, some signs, and oak doors. And a golden lasso to kidnap some villagers.

    I had to use a fluid extractor (mv) to convert glass to molten glass. I haven't seen any method to do this otherwise. So, tree farm seems to be gated to MV.

    Nevermind--I closed FTB launcher, and then found I had a second copy of FTP launcher running. Closed them both, opened a single instance back up, and it loaded just fine.

    I decided to give the latest version of the modpack a go, but I'm finding that it crashes on startup (created a new single player world, and tried to play it). Anyone have any clues as to why?

    Yeah. Going into space is risky. It's easy to end up in an infinite loop of spawning and dying. Happened to me, too. Ultimately had to turn on admin powers and cheat to get out of it.
