    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

Ok, there are two main trains here. You've got mod compatibility, which isn't something that Forge can control. You can't have forge require Tinker's stats for mod-materials without making Tinkers a part of Forge, which defeats the point. The same thing goes for he rest of the mods, the fact...

    Can I request a seed?

I could by wrong, but the main reason that there isn't a thriving seed-sharing community here is that everything changes the output of the seeds. The terrain generation is a random number generator based on both the seed, and the game itself. The generation for a given seed will change with...

Big Reactors : Smallest self sustaining?

As I recall it was because he played around with it, and judged it that the cost vs. energy for it was too low, so he nuked the efficiency.

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

I quite like the idea of a unified system for it, but Forge isn't the place. Forge should be as universal as possible, allowing mod makers to do what they want to without enforcing onerous standards (some standards are good, such as with the ore dictionary). The point is that Forge is as backend...

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

There are two sides to this, though. Obviously the ore dictionary is already a big part of Forge, but there's also the issue that having Forge simply take over the oregen as standard becomes tricky, different mods need different amounts of things. Imagine making an old Factorization solar mirror...

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

Two things. Firstly, the first part of what you said was my point. TE was using MJ, when it was just an energy source to use (and the choices were either EU, MJ or Blutricity), but was not using it in the way that it was intended. The MJ system was realigned and enforced back to it's originally...

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

The problem is that that isn't how things work in modded minecraft. Something has to be popular before being standardised. That's why RF is the current power standard, Thermal expansion was standard in most packs back when it was using MJ, then they realigned the theories behind MJ back to it's...

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

Ok, I think I'd agree with most on here, that content is a no-no. There should be nothing in Forge that the user can see (otherwise you risk one set of people not liking it and avoiding forge, causing divisions). Now, as far as cross-mod support goes, it's an interesting one. On the one hand, I...

"Recommended" Infinity version needs an update

If there's a bug (particularly a game-ending one), then that needs to be reported, and there are places to do that to ensure that it gets the attention it requires. The key point here is that the modpacks are not really supposed to be all constantly up to date. The mods and mod versions are...

    Quarries + Mob Farms

For quarries, the main reason for having them be far off is usually the world-hole ugliness, which is mitigated by the ender-quarry, so you can quarry closer to you, and in larger chunks. Alternatively, there are things like the deep-dark, and the Twilight Forest which can give you a quarry in...

    adventure mod question

Not sure if it's what you're looking for, but your description reminded me of Chocolate Quest, which I don't think I've seen in FTB. I played it with friends in a tekkit pack, though.

Request How do you move an OpenBlocks Vacuum Hopper?

I would also point out that the block is rather small and dark. If the place that you're removing it from is also dark it may have popped out of your "grabbing" reach, and you can't see it spinning on the ground.

[Solved] Urgent help needed: Agrarian Skies

Ah, if they've changed the generation in that time, I'm no help. I've not booted it up in a while.

Just a few questions from an old Tekkit player

Ok, as no one else has, I'll point out that this is a dead topic from 2012. The information was accurate at the time, but is wildly different now.

[Solved] Urgent help needed: Agrarian Skies

I remember having some issues with the spawn points. if you're in SMP (local server), you could get the gamemode change command ready on the server console, and hit it as soon as you're in the game. Otherwise, you can try and type it, or activate NEI. I don't know whether there is a new...

[Infinity] Tree's Destroying Blocks when grown.

Fair enough. I'm quite happy to believe that it's my own faulty memory playing tricks on me.

[Infinity] Tree's Destroying Blocks when grown.

I could be thinking of a while back, but I'm fairly sure that I used to get apples from birch. Not many, but one or two for every couple of stacks of saplings.

[Infinity] Tree's Destroying Blocks when grown.

It's worth pointing out that for vanilla trees, different breeds give different drops. Oak are, far and away, the best for apples (birch drop some, but nowhere near the same quantities), birch and oak are best for saplings, and spruce have the best wood:sapling ratio.

FTB Infinity 1.7.10 Help, Venting and Discussion Thread

Anyone happen to have any big reactors control code? It seems that my go-to EZ-NUKE one crashes in this version.

    Spatial IO modular base?

This is not dissimilar to the Material Energy maps, in which areas are loaded and unloaded at request. There are some issues with it, specifically with some blocks that might not manage to transfer, but it's a valid basis for a base.
