Maybe some people know but I'd like to tell here that I'm busy porting (a subset for now) of RFTools to Minecraft 1.8.8. Here is a screenshot of the progress so far:

Note that if Minecraft wasn't written in Java we wouldn't have had any mods. It is java that makes it easy to mod this game.

I didn't use the drop key at all. All manipulation is done with RMB (activate) key

There is always sneak-right-click (to craft one stack at a time given enough materials) Well didn't you see the chest in the video? It is already there and has no GUI either. Can only hold 4x3 stacks though.
