Since I suspect this will also be asked... yes... it works with Florbs for hilarity and insanity. (PSST... Fuel Florbs + Activator + Nether = much fun).

To explain the screenshots:

http://imgur.com/bnutbfh - exp potions firing at a "high" pitch.

http://imgur.com/w20F8Ap - it will activate functionality on most things, here it placed a sapling into a plant pot.

http://imgur.com/3H8OHqS - yes, it will fire an IC2 mining laser, this time in a "low" pitch.

http://imgur.com/qff1cme - nothing to see here... just me fighting with the activator for control over the lever. Move along and don't judge me!

http://imgur.com/Cu0Q3gn - it even works with more unusual items from other mods, like the force rod from DartCraft.

Im fairly skeptical of using this new TE. One tesseract to rule them all now? Moving stacks of items without any power use at all? As another person said earlier in this thread, its rude to just make items from other mods and make them better 'to increase market share'. is this some sort of hidden competition between BC and TE? "No MY pipes are better!" "No *I* Will build the fastest and cheapest pipes!"

Strictly speaking, AE is still going to remain the best option for items, as it does not deal with actual item movement. BC pipes are incredibly cheap (read: free) next to Itemducts, and can certainly pull out a stack at a time. So this whole debate has been a bit confusing for me.

As far as Tesseracts go, it's mostly a meh. They're going to be a bit more expensive, to be sure.

I don't understand the whole itemduct debate either... as Redboss said earlier in this thread, we haven't even gotten to play with them yet. Why bother arguing about balancing? I'd much rather play with it already! ;)

Can't really talk about the cost of BuildCraft pipes without including gates and wiring. You can make some very basic systems without logic, but if you want to compare pipes to the alternatives you wont get far without them.

Outside of the magic mods, moving items and liquids across vast distances and dimensions usually does not require power or otherwise have a cost/tax. Consider:
  • vanilla ender chests
  • Ender Storage chests and tanks
  • Ender IO Dimensional Transceiver
  • TE tesseracts
Once built and deployed, none of these have a tax on item/liquid movement. Power is a different story. IMHO, Ender IO's 10% tax is a bit too cheap, but Ender IO is in its early stages and this could change.

Yes, all of them are pretty OP. Idsu's are not OP though. Teleporting items should be expensive don't you think?

Costly perhaps, but not expensive

Just enough to push them back to the generalised "mid-game" for people
And enough to make you think twice about mass producing them until later in the game
