Dang! I didn't expect it to be so difficult to get the mod authors permission to make modpacks. Most of the mods I'm using allow anyone to use their mods, but a couple integral ones don't and one of them is stubbornly refusing to allow it. A couple other mod others seem impossible to contact to even request permission. It's brought all work on my pack/map to a halt. I'm going to have to rethink the whole thing and probably won't have time to get anything good together. /end frustration venting.
What mods are you struggling to get permission for? We managed to get every mod we wanted with no hassle apart from MFFS:eek:

so, was it ever addressed where to submit these entries? I've noticed some people have banners for theirs and I was wondering if maybe I had just missed the info on where to submit the packs, or if they are just art right now.

I'm working on a pack for this that includes orespawn, MFR, TE, TC, and more! The modpack will be based around orespawn, and there will be quests leading up to the king and queen battle. ;)

Apparently this competition started two weeks ago and I didn't even notice. I'm already behind! That's okay, I've already got a pack and...
Yeah and packs started before the competition will get dinged by the judges since that wouldn't be fair to people who actually completed it in the month alloted.
...well. This is going to take some doing.

I had planned to make some changes to make the pack more appropriate for a hardcore setting. I have a few deviously devious ideas and my pack lends itself to some really unique rewards. I'll be spending the bulk of my time writing quests, re-testing the balance I've thrown to the wind, and then probably writing more quests.

This is fantastic! I created a pack back in Jan that my friends have been having a blast with! I've cleaned it up quite a bit since then and I'd love to submit it! How do we go about doing that? >.>

You don't. It has to be made after the announcement was made.

You can't submit it yet. I'm not sure when it opens for submissions, but it'll be there eventually.

No you don't. you'll dinged for re-using one, though.

Drom the first post:

Existing maps and modpacks can be used as long as they belong to the person that enters.

man one thing im scared about is that since AG was the main mod pack everyone thinks of when they think of HQM most of the packs will be like skyblocks or something like just make a bunch of stuff and start out with a little (dont get me wrong i loved AG great job on the pack it was alot of fun to play) but when i hear QUESTING i immediatly think of rpgs like wincraft in vanilla minecraft or World of Warcraft i would love to see a rpg style mod pack with quests that arnt just make this and turn it in but it still looks good and i hope some people are takeing that path
