Because most people prefer TiC, and there's very little reason to have both those mods in the same pack.

Uh, they're not even close to the same thing, and there are plenty of reasons to have both of those mods in the same pack. On top of that I'd take Dartrcraft over TiC every day of the week, it does much, much more.

I have to assume you've never used one of those two mods if you think there is much overlap between them.

Tell me about force pack equivalents in TiC?

Tell me about force rod equivalents in TiC?

Tell me about force grinder equivalents in TiC?

Tell me about force mitt equivalents in TiC?

Tell me how you can build mob spawners with TiC?

Tell me how you generate power with TiC?

Tell me how you grow trees with TiC?

Tell me how you fly with TiC?

Tell me about TiC item transport?

Tell me about TiC crafting?

Tell me about TiC mob handling/moving?

This list goes on for quite awhile.

Let's pretend that both mods do exactly the same thing, your argument would still be invalid because there are lots of mods that do the same thing and still coexist in FTB packs.

I think Engineer's Toolbox's Limestone is an essential reagent in the ore tripling line for the mod too. Something about using a kiln to turn it into quicklime

Totally needed for Engineers toolbox ore tripling system of machinery. Namely the Multi Smelter that uses quicklime to process the powder.

QuarryPlus got taken over by denoflionsx

Nice to know, what's weird is Monster seems to be using the old version then.

What I meant was TiC covers what most people use DC for. Almost everything else is covered by other mods in the pack. Dartcraft got bad rep in 1.5 due to it's balancing issues, every day there was a thread on here complaining about it. For the reddit 1.6 pack, the majority of people voted to keep it out or keep it disabled.

That sounds strange because it has been in for awhile. It isn't a normal recipe though so if you are not seeing it in NEI that will be why (unless of course it really is a very old version)

Yeah I even moved the key to G and hit F and nothing happened so I dont know whats assigned...
I like how all the key assignments are grouped to their mod and not one long list. The 'conflicts' part of that list is also nice. But my issue doesnt show up there either. I hope I dont have to go into the files......

Were you able to find what is conflicting with F? I use EDSF as well.

I like some of the aesthetic additions. I was kind of expecting Geostrata or something similar to be included in Horizons. I've always been a proponent of varied stone generation ever since I discovered TerrafirmaCraft. It makes caves prettier, and caving trips shorter.

I'm not entirely clear what the theme of the pack is though. Is this meant to be the spiritual successor to one of the 1.5 packs? The lack of a description makes it hard to tell. Maybe I'm just a literalist, but when I saw its title, I expected a focus on mob-centric mods. (One day, I hope to see a mod included in the Direwolf20 pack that spawns direwolves...) So the apparent lack of actual monsters was disappointing. Granted, I haven't dug through everything yet so there might be some cool mob gen I haven't noticed yet.

You keep using the term "most people" when you don't have any data other than a subset of a subset of reddit. Reddit isn't representative of everybody who plays modded minecraft. The subset of people who bothered to vote aren't representative of everybody who plays modded minecraft. Who really cares about this mythical "most people" anyway? I don't choose which mods to enjoy based upon what "most people" think and neither should you.

If TiC covers what "most people" use Dartcraft for then "most people" don't know much of anything about Dartcraft. The "most people" that I know use Dartcraft for a lot more than basic tools/weapons. "Most people" use IC2 for the induction furnace. Might as well leave IC2 out of the pack too since there are furnaces in multiple mods already.

Almost everything in any mod is covered by other mods in a pack the size of Monster.

Every reason you've given to leave Dartcraft out can be applied to multiple mods that were not left out.

Instead of focusing on what other mods do as a reason to leave Dartcraft out doesn't it make sense to focus on what Dartcraft does that few or no other mods do as a reason to put it in the pack? One of these methods will yield a large pack like Monster, one of them yields a small pack like FTB Lite.

I think that nowadays mods will label their items/blocks to directly go into the forestry backpacks, but not all the mods do that yet, so there are still some of those items not going into the backpacks. for instance the shards from Thaumcraft, they do not directly go into the backpacks

You can configure what items go into the backpacks by adding their IDs to forestry/backpacks.cfg

Back to the thread... The real surprise here is my mod, EnderNet. I did talk to jadedcat about its inclusion, but I would have never suspected it would be this soon.

Anyway, can't wait for the in-pack version to be upgraded to beta7 - redstone sending is in, a lot more fixes and quirks to enable, too. Also, Ender Chat Boxes (like MiscPeripherals Chat Boxes, only better :3)

Congratz. Do you have a tutorial or are there any spotlights yet?

Why are you being hostile towards me? It's as simple as this: If you feel DC brings something new to the table, that isn't already covered in the pack, then add it manually. In my opinion, I don't feel it brings anything meaningful and in 1.5 it had serious balancing issues. If your opinion differs then feel free to add DC to your pack. It got a lot of bad rep in unleashed, and despite most those issues being fixed/balance, there doesn't appear to be enough demand to add it in.

By the way, I used the term "most people" because of the sheer amount of complaining threads DC caused during unleashed's lifetime. Perhaps don't analyze my words so much? There was an awful lot of people that did not like this mod being in unleashed. Was it most people? Probably not, but seems to have been enough for them to not include the mod this time around.

Small quirk/bug I noticed. If you enable stone generation in Geostrata, the naturally generated smoothstone versions don't appear to respect mining speeds for higher tier picks. Like granite for example. It's supposed to be a hard material, yes, but there's no change in speed at all. It mines just as fast with an iron pick as it does with a diamond pick, as it does with a cobalt pick. If there's supposed to be an upper limit to its mining speed, I'd understand, but I would also expect it to take much much longer with iron. So that's kind of weird. Probably a mod issue, but I figured I'd point it out anyway.

Also, am I crazy or do some of those Geostrata crystals just give you experience for free when you stand near them?

Well I'm sad there's no Mekanism but I see UE core and Basic components (although I didn't know Basic comp added any world gen) are in for I guess world gen so it looks like there will be Mek and Associated configs at some point.
