which mods are you most looking forward to playing?
Reliquary, well because I'm maintaining it. Outside of that, I can't wait to play with some of the mods, ones I've never tried before (like RotaryCraft, GasCraft, Mariculture, ExpandedRedstone, GeoStrata, etc).

which ones will you disable? Probably Mimicry, Magical Crops, Buildcraft (TE provides all the MJ I need), Universal Electricity (not much use for it), Railcraft, Compact Solars/Windmills, and BetterStorage (prefer Backpacks + Iron Chests).

will you add any to the pack?
PowerConverters (TE --> IC2), Minechem, Redstone in Motion, and Big Reactors if it dosen't end up being in the pack. I'll also be enabling Biomes O' Plenty.

In that case:

TiCo because it's intrusive, changes too much of vanilla and other mods, annoying, cheating, and total rip off of modular tools. On top of that, removing TiCo will provide game play and remove instant gratification.
other than the fact you're being quite rude...

Please explain why you think TiCo is "intrusive"
You never have to use it if you don't want to, default configs don't disable vanilla tools, you can 100% ignore the mod if you so desire..
I believe you are getting TiCo mistaken with something else, as it doesn't change any other mods, at all, ever.
cheating? Well, based on your opinion of maps, I can tell that our views on what is cheating is drastically different.
Never heard of modular tools so can't comment on that... a MCForum link would be appreciated.
I don't really understand "removing TiCo will provide game play and remove instant gratification." as using TiCo extends the process of making and "enchanting" tools far beyond what vanilla does.

I see extrabees isn't in Monster (looks like it isn't available for any 1.6.4 packs anyway), is there any other mod included in monster (or any of the other packs that can be moved with the universal configs) that adds all the different bees for ores, gems, etc?

Ehhhh not sure, but once Binnie returns and fixes some problems I am sure it will get added in.

I'm looking forward to playing around with IC2 (as usual, because i am a god with IC2), and expanded redstone
i'll add GLSL Shaders, Gregtech, and ExtraBomes XL to the mix of the 155 mods

Sure it is, I guess no one has run into the problem with liquid registry shifts in your testing. RR releases what they deem stable and FTB will release what they deem stable :D

I guess we have actually, and I also guess that we found a fix for that.
In fact, I know we did. And you know what else I know? It was Slowpoke himself that came to #rr, and told us of a fix that he found. So on that reasoning, FTB also knows about the liquid registry fix :D

aaaaaaand that means it's stable enough for a public release.

The FTB team doesn't considers it safe, not while there's a known fluid bug that corrupts worlds and the mod dev is currently absent.

I'm torn between adding the 1.6 dev version or trying out the new bee mod in the pack. Might give something new a try.

Can you share a link to the fix please?

sigh
didn't I just explain that the fix is known?

honestly, I don't play much of RR anymore, or any minecraft. When I do get back into it, I'll be playing a modified version, tailored to me[DOUBLEPOST=1387864595][/DOUBLEPOST]
Can you please stop mentioning "RR has whatever" in every post about an FTB modpack?
It's getting annoying. If people want to know about Resonant Rise, they can go look for themselves, you don't need to keep plugging it.

Back on topic:
I'm going to shoot for getting 200+ mods.
context... it means a lot.

I'm most exited about the inclusion of IC2 and Buildcraft in the pack. When I first saw Horizons I was amazed that FTB had finally made a pack with EVERYTHINg in it. THen I noticed that there were two very important mods missing from the pack. I just hope that everything's compatable.

It's compatible, whats why we did like 2 weeks of alpha testing, still some small bugs to iron out with beta but pretty stable :D[DOUBLEPOST=1387865155][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ehhhh not really, everytime a mod is mentioned that isn't in a pack you knee-jerk RR has that. Great RR is a different pack for a different launcher for a different crowd. I don't go into the RR forums and spam FTB has this and that...oh and we did this that way not this way.

I play the RR, I love RR but it's a different pack for a different play style, which is what they are aiming for. We get it, like I said once the Binnies mod issue is resolved to the Modpack Teams satisfaction and they deem it stable I am sure it will be included.

Now lets drop the whole thing and sing Kumbaya!

Fairly disappointed with the mod set personally. I'll probably end up modifying one of the packs so much it won't even come close to resembling the pack.

this is exactly what i've done. the pack i'm playing on started out as magic farm 2, became bloated to around 150 mods, and now vaguely resembles the most awesome pack i've played.

as for my actual opinions on Monster itself:
-very surprised to see gendustry, but that's awesome. binnie is lagging it tho :p
-i was secretly hoping for Blood Magic.
-rotarycraft
is slowly becoming my favorite mod. thanks reika.
-srs tho, i'm sure binniemods will be included by release, but i still worry.
