Peat vs. Other Forms of Farming

I can't believe I never thought of the obvious "suggestion": With Gregtech, you'll be able to grind mature bog earth into peat to double your yield! :p

Apiarist's Pipes: How to use them?

You know, I just realized recently that RP2 actually does provide a way to do something similar, although it's somewhat more bulky. The problem with RP2 filters is that the filter items must match exactly - which is problematic when you have bees with variable genetics. The obvious workaround...

Acclimatiser - Am I Doing This Right?

Yeah, the neat thing about the Acclimatizer is that the trait actually is genetic - not only is it inheritable, but it can also be isolated, replicated, purified and inoculated with the Tier 3 machines. Of course, you'll want to be careful - in the newest version of ExtraBees, impure serums...

    Gregtech gas turbine [Methane]

You have a number of options here. You could use the old-style forestry farm, in which case the harvester is called an Infernal Combine. You could also use the new-style forestry farm, in which case you'll need a Blazing Electron Tube. If you somehow managed to get some IC2 crops and have GT...

    Bee Traits

The short answer is no, you cannot change what environments your bees 'prefer' - that's determined by species. For instance, a demonic bee will always prefer Arid conditions, and will not produce specialties unless in an Arid environment. However, the bee can still produce combs if it can...

    Alveary Heaters

Right, so I was trying to get some Modest Princesses breeding in my Extreme Hills biome when I ran into a little hitch. As you know, Modest Princesses prefer Hot/Arid, but have tolerances of Both_1/Up_1, which means that Warm/Normal should be fine. First, I tried hooking up several biogas...

    Bee refining

Yes, the alveary is substantially faster than the apiary. In addition, you don't have to mess around with frames. As a side note, the three 'vanilla' frames all give the same productivity boost - the proven frame lasts the longest, though.

Forestry 2: a PSA on Milk Engines

Just a quick notice to those of you who might not read the wiki as often as I apparently do: Biogas engines running on milk will now 'burn' lava constantly, much like a biogas engine running on water would. The milk will still last as long as before, though. See...

Update to Mystcraft - Intraworld Linking?

It's been heavily implied by the author that the recipe is really a 'dummy' - It will probably get a more sensible (if not cheaper) recipe once the research mechanics and whatnot are laid out. For now, it's something more like a 'debug' tool. It's not as though intraworld linking is hard to...

    Filler questions

Like the previous poster said, the filler was not meant to be used as a quarry. Besides being too cheap, there's another reason: LAG! Screw up the collection system even slightly, and the old-style filler drops hundreds, thousands of items everywhere. Much better to simply have them disappear...

Soul shard slime spawner not working.

I believe the issue here is that you probably aren't in a slime chunk- tier 2 spawners will not spawn any mob that wouldn't spawn 'naturally'. Sorry!

    Myrtle Ebony growth

I think the NEI problem was fixed in a newer version that hasn't been pushed to the packs yet. As for the saplings, you'll need to know that there's a particular sapling you have to bonemeal - I can't remember which one, though. Sorry!

What do I do with..... Guide

I hate to sound like a broken record, but your information for factorization yields is still incorrect.

    LP for a GregTech noob?

Oh, that reminds me, someone came up with an interesting idea to safeguard the GT machines: if you seperate them from your main power network with a 'fuse' - that is, a lower-voltage piece, like a bit of copper cable between two LV transformers - then the power cascade will destroy the fuse...

    LP for a GregTech noob?

The advice people have given you on GregTech really should be repeated: ALWAYS check NEI. Greg changes his recipes around very, very frequently, and his website is quite often out of date, and missing changed recipes. (A personal example: you used to be able to make double the RE-batteries by...

    Automating Factorization

I recall going the RP2 route myself, although the version I was working with had a rather annoying quirk: a deployer wouldn't fill a bucket if it was facing down. Sideways, yes, but not down. Other than that, it worked like a charm. I was using transposers, barrels and a sequencer, but two...

    Charging Enchantment

As for why someone would want to Charge a wand, some of Thaumcraft's special wands - most notably the wands of fire and lightning - cannot naturally recharge. Therefore, their vis is limited, essentially behaving like damage. This enchant basically allows you to use the same wand indefinitely...

    Buildcraft Changes of Note

Did you place the pipe below the fermenter? Buildcraft pipes in general can only access the matching slot - so fertilizer goes below, saplings and whatnot above, and I believe liquid containers go in and out through the sides.

    PROBLEM! HELP!

There's a little thing, though. If I recall correctly, any minimap waypoints are actually stored in your config folder, so you'll have to copy that over. And I'm surprised that you're using .minecraft in %appdata% as your FTB install - that's where the vanilla minecraft usually goes. Needless...

    Bee Traits

Adding to this... I believe that Faster and Fastest are only attainable with ThaumicBees, although I'd be happy to be wrong. Fast, on the other hand, can be attained very easily in Forestry proper. Similarly Longer and Longest are, I think, only with ExtraBees. Long is somewhat trickier - I...
