So I have my corroded bees, which produce copper. Copper is annoyingly rare since it generates in the higher layers of the map and I tend to mine lower down. Corroded bees produce a copper comb every 25 minutes or so. Is it possible to breed them with, say, a cultivated bee (has a very fast production rate) to make it produce faster? This would also be useful for valuable bees which only produce platinum combs every 2.5 hours.

It's certainly possible to breed in traits from other bee lines, so you should be able to crossbreed copper & cultivated bees to get (with luck and patience) a very productive Corroded line.

Btw, how fast will the valuable bee produce 1 platinum comb if it has fastest productivity gene and I'm using proven frames in an apiary?

Will it be faster If I use alveary instead of apiary+proven frame?

Yes, the alveary is substantially faster than the apiary. In addition, you don't have to mess around with frames.

As a side note, the three 'vanilla' frames all give the same productivity boost - the proven frame lasts the longest, though.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
I think a chocolate frame give a higher speed boost than the vanilla forestry one (but shortens the lifespan)
Not sure on the numbers, but 3 choc. frames might be faster than an alveary.

On mutations, other aspects may improve (such as a short livde sinister+ fiendish producing a longer lived demonic)- so you may luck out with 'faster' or 'fastest' speed breeding one of the industrial bee types.

Some bees slow down/don't produce unless the temp/humidity exactly matches what they want. (regardless of tolerance)

Edit- also boost the fertitality/drone count, so can clone your bees.

Ok guys thanks for the answers, here's another quick question, is it possible for a bee to not produce any comb during its lifespan??

It's kinda possible. you can use an apiary and put restraint frames in. They reduce territory at the expense of production and lifespan.

Also, you can now put frames in alevaries to further boost the production rate if you want with the new extra bees alevary blocks.

DO NOT use the frame holders if you are playing on a server. At least, not until the mod packs update their versions of Extra Bees.
