    Liquiducts and Steam Compression

As suggested, and as far as I have seen, a liquiduct can carry a boatload of steam (I doubt it's infinite, but screenshots on the forums here suggest that a single pipe can carry 3 36HP boilers worth). The limiting factor is the connection points, or perhaps the limit is actually in the boiler...

Most eficient power generation from saplings

The default answer right now is probably fermenters to biomass to biofuel to steam. Steam is pretty darn efficient once you get it heated fully. Don't try it without a significant reserve of fuel though.

Forestry Question about Manual Farms (Rubber)

I won't lie. It's quite possible I was Doin' It Wrong

Forestry Question about Manual Farms (Rubber)

As the master mage of midkemia above me said, as it is a manual farm, you have to do all of the initial setup, to include laying out the substrate blocks (sandstone, bricks, whatever), the dirt to grow on, and then planting the saplings.

Forestry Question about Manual Farms (Rubber)

dc0110 is correct. I just finished building one of these on Saturday. You lay out the farm and plant rubber trees in a dense pattern (as dense as you can get, since you don't have to move through them), and get your input/output running. You'll be swimming in resin before long.

    Speed of a Fermenter?

I do not know of one. It's been mostly trial and error, forum posts, and the occasions gem picked up from LP's (like today's 'Gates care what side they are hooked up to to determine inventory status'...I mean, it makes sense when you see it, but I wouldn't have considered it).

    Speed of a Fermenter?

For mine, I modified a suggestion from the forum. From my sapling barrel, I have an autarchic gate feeding into a tesseract. That feeds into a hopper over top of the fermenter. Just set to pulse whenever there's space available and use a diamon pipe to loopback into the barrel so you don't...

    The most underused starting strategies?

Ain't that the truth, though honestly I only have to kill a couple of blazes before they're not a problem any longer (1 for the brewing stand, 1 for a bundle of fire protection potions...I do NOT go in the nether without at least one if I can help it...not after start anyway).

Do you like to live close to other players?

I like to be the guy that makes the fancy stuff that other people can leech off of, contributing in that fashion helps to give me a sense of goal that I would otherwise be without. I mean, if I wasn't the fancy-junk-guy, I'd probably just peter out after I built a house out of sandstone and...

    Multi-farm question

Has anyone else experienced a problem where they are unable to insert electron tubes into a circuit board larger than the basic one? Every time I tried, the tube would just vanish. I probably wasted 50 of various ingots trying different combinations with different boards.

    More questions about gates

Ok. Diamond pipe makes sense. I was still focusing on the diamond gate comment from earlier. I should have room for a void pipe in the system.

    More questions about gates

The other end of the tesseract is a hopper attached to a fermenter. When the hopper is full, the tesseract seems to accept one more item, and then disconnects itself from the buildcraft pipe. I do not mind void piping the results excess. It ends up being about 1 sapling in 5 at my current...

    More questions about gates

huh..thought I replied to this earlier, but I guess the internets ate it. I've not made very many diamond gates, what do you mean by insertion properties?

    More questions about gates

So I routinely run into this problem and I'm wondering if/how people generally deal with it. I'll describe my current setup, but the question is really generic. A pneumatic tube feeds stuff into a barrel. Under the barrel, I have a wooden pipe -> golden pipe -> other inventory (tesseract in...

    Squeezers and gates

I need to look at those golems, I think. I'm having a lot of problems automating moisteners, squeezers, and fermenters. It sucks to have to login every 12 hours to drop more wheat in the squeezer.

    Squeezers and gates

    ok. that's genius. /bow

    Squeezers and gates

I have not been able to find a conditional that works with buildcraft gates (gold, at least) that can understand 'there's no room for apples' or 'there's room for apples'. What's the best way to automate this? Just feed apples in as fast as you can and just make sure that you've got a...

Buildcraft Gates and the Induction Smelter

Ugh. Thank you. I hooked a gold gate up, but didn't think to put the rich slag in the middle slot when I noticed space in inventory was acting the same. One of these days I'll figure gates out. Much appreciated

Buildcraft Gates and the Induction Smelter

I was unprepared for the induction smelter change that removed the pulverized dust and rich slag combination. Since I knew I could always just take care of it later if I ran low on gold (or whatever), I was just dropping the rich slag into a barrel and not worrying about it. Now I've got a...
