Dear Fellow FTB'ers,

I have a small question about the new type of farms in the Forestry mod. According to the wiki, a manual rubber farm "2) , 3) Will not harvest or replant trees." (http://forestry.sengir.net/wiki.new/doku.php?id=farms:programming)

I was wondering if this is indeed true since it seems to kind of defeat the purpose of an automated rubber farm so if anyone could verify this OR point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.

My objective was to create a fully automated rubber farm which would plant, tap, and re-plant trees...

Cheers,
Bel*.

Does it not mean that it will initially plant the trees, tap the resin and then wait for the resin to respawn and tap again?
Rather than chopping down the trees when there is no need.

dc0110 is correct. I just finished building one of these on Saturday. You lay out the farm and plant rubber trees in a dense pattern (as dense as you can get, since you don't have to move through them), and get your input/output running. You'll be swimming in resin before long.

As the master mage of midkemia above me said, as it is a manual farm, you have to do all of the initial setup, to include laying out the substrate blocks (sandstone, bricks, whatever), the dirt to grow on, and then planting the saplings.

@all: thanks very much for this intel. I'll surely look into doing so since at the moment I have 1 managed farm setup with 2 sides creating peat and 2 sides creating wheat/seeds.
