Perhaps it would be better to instead of concentrating on just hunger, to revamp the health alongside it. The two are pritty much hooked into one another.. perhaps look at terrafirma crafts method of balancing your food groups leading to your health staying hardy and whatnot.

No, humans do not require dairy to survive. They requires Vitamin A, B6, B12, C and D along with Calcium, Iron and Magnesium.

What happens if you aren't human? ...that would be an interesting aspect of the mod. Ether choose or have a randomly chosen species and diet.

Plants would be spoiler powered and require water. Dragons would eat metal. Preferably soft metal. Robots would require power.

Heck a separate mod that lets you heal via RF would be nice.

Actually thats not a bad idea for a mod.
Different genetic upgrades; add chlorophyll so sunlight can slowly regenerate your stamina. Ingesting minerals [the dragon] would buff defence ect...
