/dev/null doesn't help because with an Efficency 5 Shatterer with Rank SS and the Ring of Thor you clear a series of 9x9x5 "rooms" at running pace for the Kami armor. Basically you are mining that fast that even with /dev/nulls for all non ores your inventory fills up in a few hits at running pace leading to it taking longer to mine this way, due to inventory management, than with a slower mass manual method (Hammer mostly) Haven't investigated the compression methods available with Botania\Thaumcraft\Blood Magic but I doubt there will be anything that makes this method viable unlike the original in Equivalent Exchange. In any case I basically made the Shatterer and ranked it up to SS because I could lol
Have you tried using Black Hole Talismans instead of developing nulls?

ummmm, no. Will have to look it up. Never even heard of it. There are way to many items out there. I know I am missing all these cool items do to all the ones that are available overwhelming me when I go looking through the options in NEI or JEI.

It's an item that can store something like two billion of some specified item, and will automatically suck them out of your inventory- basically a portable Deep Storage Unit. Thaumic Tinkerer and Botania both have their own versions of it (because Vazkii made both mods); the only differences are the crafting recipe and the texture.

I guess PSI will have one too.

Overgrowth Seeds are freakin insane... Use a few for passive(Hydrogenous mostly and a few of the nightshade/solar combo ones) and a few for active generating flowers(Especially Slime and Endoflame) and you get a huge mana boost

Wait what, how have I never heard of overgrowth seeds...

Edit:
jdog, is your info still current? Reddit says overgrowth seeds just prevent passive flowers from decaying and dont speed up mana generation.

Obviously I have no idea what the real info is.

Yeah, they prevent the passive ones from decaying and don't speed them up but it is really useful and nice to have constant passive Gen, albeit it's pretty slow but it's really nice before you get full automation. And then the boost for active generation is really nice and will be even better if I can set up some automation.

I've never played a P&P campaign, despite wanting to for many, many years. Though, honestly, I'd likely be more comfortable with D&D 3.5e, since its the one with which I'm most familiar.

Yeah, 3.5 or maybe Pathfinder is the only way to P&P. Been thinking about playing again for a while now. Maybe I'll just do that...

Found out two days ago about the power of the Gourmaryllis from botania.

I usually use the endoflame as my mana source. Setup in a mostly leave it and forget it system. Suplementing it with something else to get that little bit extra. Was doing the same here. Was trying out the Gourmaryllis to see what it could do. Now it is the only flower I am using. I have four of them on the second floor of my three floor mana farm. They are being fed off of three different ten ten ten crops from harvest craft. Layed out in nine by nine plots. Golems harvest the crops. Agricarnations help them grow. Hopperhocks attached to filtered (item frames) hoppers get the food to the flower. I needed the fourth to keep up with the nine by nine carrot farm on the first floor. The carrot farm easily overloads just one hopper when that is all that is assigned to it.

The system is producing massively more mana then I am used to. It is easily filling all the pools I have on top the base. Admittedly I ran out of diamonds a little while ago and haven't mined for awhile. So I can't throw terrasteel at it right now.

Just found out you can scan items in your inventory for Thaumcraft aspects by hovering with the Thaumometer on your courser over the item you want to scan.
No need to throw it on the ground and pick it up again anytime before scaning is done. :)
