Why don't we cut that down to "the vanilla launcher"The fact that the default launcher takes two steps before it will actually load the game. I mean I could understand if it were a launcher that held multiple instances but it doesn't really do that... Nothing is more annoying than clicking on that icon thinking... "surely it will have loaded by now" only to realize that it hasn't even started, especially given the load times with 100ish mods.

U avin a giggle?what? you mean that using my dual core laptop with integrated graphics and 750 MB ddr2 ram is not the right way?
Of course I do as I it was a joke, except the part where it is indeed one of the laptops I own. but I don't use it anymore as I have better things to do in my life.U avin a giggle?
We were having a productive discussion about the renewability of resources in a closed system, then someone came along and disrupted it by claiming that a word that we were using didn't mean what we were using it to mean. All I did was try to clarify what we meant by the word in the context of this discussion. If that's a sad thing to do, trying to avert an interesting conversation from being disrupted and derailed with semantics, then I'm happy to be called sad.No, they're arguing, sadly, about the definition of renewable. Yep.

Slightly related(more of a derp), but I actually regularly search for "Smooth stone" in NEI/ME/LP remote orderer/etc. before I can get my thoughts straightHighly controversial topic, and before opening the spoiler, if you have any input on this, want to say whatever about it, then do it via pm, as we don't want to cause a flame-war on the forums
when people call vanilla items/blocks incorrectly, e.g. sugar cane: reeds (I know it is registered as reeds in the code, but that ain't their name yo'), chests: boxes, etc.

Nope:Err I did not "disrupt it" I started the damn conversation....
I think it's pretty clear what he meant by "renewable".I think that the only good way to balance this mod for modpack use is to make most renewable items unusable. That way, you can't just make a cobble/wood/etc farm and get all the emc you want. EDIT: heck, even a vanilla gold farm would cause balance issues and that's vanilla.
Smooth stone is the only one I can understand, because when you ask someone to give you stone, 9/10 they give you cobble...Slightly related(more of a derp), but I actually regularly search for "Smooth stone" in NEI/ME/LP remote orderer/etc. before I can get my thoughts straight
Don't even joke about that sorta stuffI wonder what will happen with people if that mod that gives you a bazillion just slightly different colored stones becomes popular.
Player 1: can you give me stone
player 2: do you want light stone? dark stone? darker stone? .....
But... it's the same amount of letters... Oh, nevermind...Why don't we cut that down to "the vanilla launcher"
Too late. http://ftbwiki.org/Paint_Mixer OpenBlocks already has that covered and is already popular.I wonder what will happen with people if that mod that gives you a bazillion just slightly different colored stones becomes popular.

the mod I talked about had those stones spawning in the world. Stone in a mountain that was exposed seemed to be light stone while stone in a cave was dark stone.Too late. http://ftbwiki.org/Paint_Mixer OpenBlocks already has that covered and is already popular.
On that same note, do you have any Blue Gneiss?Don't even joke about that sorta stuff

Try stepping back a block or two...A bit of a Vanilla rant here.
Apparently if you place a sign while sneaking, you don't open the GUI and therefore can't edit it. So it's impossible to write something on a sign if you want to place it on a chest.
Putting on my moderator voice to say that this can be a very nice discussion without it getting heated. Or having people sling various words around that others would not prefer to hear. Keep it friendly.
