Tech mods.
No, really, I'm sick and tired, tired and sick of tech mods. And perhaps a little drunk. But the whole "tech is more minecraftian then magic" mentality drives me up the walls, and the fact that Realism Nazis infect Minecraft and bitch incessantly about literally anything that doesn't make perfect sense to reality pisses me off more then tech mods.
I recall a discussion on the IC2 forums with a dude who hated magic in Minecraft and was so insane he said that "Clearly, Creepers are Suicide Bombers, Skeletons Snipers, Zombies are still zombies, Spiders are just big spiders, nether portals are clearly a technological device, the nether just a weird desert, Ghasts are UAVs" and I swear, if I could have punched him across the internet, he'd be getting my Spas-12 to chew on for a second before I unload a Door Breaching round into his fat face.

IIRC it was the GT Thread. Good luck finding the posts, though, because I ain't gonna bother.

Another thing is the Greg hate. GT isn't for everyone. Gods, we all know this by now. But Greg is a pretty chill guy. Played some SMP with him once. Nice guy, friendly, shares his resources, and was very easy to talk with.
He himself told me, and he'll remind you all, he rarely does any "fixing" of other mods. The only real examples of him doing this was RP2 Blockbreakers(diamond mining with a iron pick? Yeah, no, I agreed with him on that), and the Handsaw for normal wood outputs, making metal plates needed for pretty much anything that uses metal(automatically done no less), and making some materials require GT Machines to process(done automatically once he either makes them need them or adds the option to need them, eg steel can't be smelted in a normal furnace by default, and I agree with that idea).

This is why I don't bother with most mod arguments. Personally, I don't like most of Minecraft's magic mods. I don't care for Thaumcraft's research barrier and the major irritant that is taint...never saw much of Blood Magic or Ars Magica that I really cared about. Magical Crops is quite good and damn useful, but this is all just me. Tech mods don't bother with a lot of that, and they're quite useful. Again, all my opinion. I don't begrudge anyone their mods de jour, so long as they don't begrudge me mine.

Liked just for that line. Seriously, I wish more people would follow this.
Aye. Everyone's got their favourites. I love C#, but am not terribly fond of Java, though that's more for their virtual machines, coding styles, and most popular IDEs. I love Guild Wars 2 and hate World of Warcraft. I love carrots and hate peas...okay, I'm kidding, the only food I've found that I can't stomach is tamarand and some Indian food. :p

After having had a streak of bad luck with the RNG on breeding a low chance MB bee that has to be bred over a certain block in a normal Apiary(Yeah I know I could have cheated using Gendustry, but I actually like doing beebreeding), I get a random weird crash and when I restart the game both the princess and drone I was just handling are gone....

I just realised that it'll take me 16 rituals of the green grove to get acceptable coverage of my magical crops farm.

I may need several wells of villager suffering to make this self-sustaining.

Some of the players/users of minecraft, they annoy me extremely by they just talk trash about mods and half of it doesn't make any sense. Quote from one of them that I can't find source to "Notch doesn't want people modding his game, its illegal, he will sue u" I literally just about tore my genitals off.

I would hypothesize that about 25% of Minecraft players have at least one mod installed, so mojang probably actually likes mods :p

You mean Optifine or the HD texture fix?

I'm annoyed that most machines with a liquid tank lose all its contents when broken...looking at you, replicator, compression dynamo, gearbox, ...
But on the other hand it may be annoying if you can't empty out a tank...I accidentally placed a reservoir next to a water pipe.

I would rather hate losing my contents, then never being able to lose my contents.

Did I say that correctly?

It's like wrenching a portable tank vs. breaking it with a pick: The latter empties it out. I like that you can do both.

worldgen is the worst troll in the game by far.
I like setting up in plains type areas. spawn in mountains/snow/other/water, no plains/reasonably flat, clear areas/LAND anywhere on minimap. walk for a few days, still nothing. time to delete and restart.

gotten into terrafirmacraft a bit lately as well thanks to Ethos series on it.
im not having the same bad luck with the poor clusters he has (normal/rich for me so far), but I have to walk a full MC day to get to a few ore deposits I need. then I basically play hide-n-seek with "hotter, colder" messages off the prospectors pick to find the actual ores. turns out they can spawn a vein right against the soil layer, which I only see when I look at my tunnel roof. which promptly collapses when I mine the ore.

oh, and baby zombies don't burn when the sun comes up.

When mod- or mapmakers mistake tedium for challenge. Especially with Ex Nihilo and skyblock-type maps.

You need need a certain amount of a resource to continue? Have fun mining cobble for a couple hours, and enjoy clicking on a sieve for another couple (or use a script to automate clicking while you watch a movie, which defeats the purpose of PLAYING a game).

Need automate said clicking within the game? Here's an endgame recipe for your fake player (such as an Autonomous Activator).

Need to expand your platform? Have fun clicking each block to place it, since you can't get a Builder's Wand and aren't given one to start. After all, your finger might slip and you'll fall off the edge, so that's challenging.

I know that part of that is actual difficulty when you just started, but once you've done a few cycles of several different tasks and are in no danger anymore, it's boring to do them for several hours just to do a few minutes of some other task, then restarting the whole cycle again.

The spider "slurp" sound.

I know it's hard to pick a sound that a spider would make, but I could do without the "octogenarian that forgot his dentures eating soup" noise.

I'm open for suggestions as to what to replace it with.

I dunno how to fix the spider sounds, but I'd LOVE to have the old cow sounds back, so the cows don't sound like someone with a rather severe head cold trying to make cow noises and failing miserably. I'd also love it if baby zombies weren't completely worthless nuisances. They're fast and every bit as strong and durable as an adult (which in and of itself is pants-on-head retarded) with none of the side benefits you get from an adult upon their demise.

I've tried it. I've also tried multiple ones, hitting them in turn.
I can get more resources in the same time with a bit of extra spelunking and a vanilla furnace.
Unless I've got steel-machine-frames enabled that first trip gives more than enough for a few hobbyist engines and a pulveriser
Well. I tend to spend day 1 hunting wood, wool and food.
End of day 1 usually have shelter, food, a bed and charcoal - sleep the night then go spelunking with my OP stone tools. (soon to be upgraded with iron counterparts)
End of day 2 I will have a furnace generator, a pulverizer and a Redstone furnace, gemstone tools, iron armor and even more food.
Quartz Grindstone is passed by completely as I for one absolutely HATE the idea of manually grinding stuff.

Trying to get in behind my ReC turbines to tinker with a few things, forgetting that electricraft superconducting cables are LETHAL, even with a godmode powersuit on.

A bad time to realise that i've moved my bed and lost my spawn point too...
