So, anyone happen to have some good suggestions on how to protect farm animals from Blizzs?

I'm living in a snow biome and it looks like I have to completely seal up any cattle I have since Blizzs seem to love to commit genocide on them if there's even the slightest access.

Blizzes only throw snowballs at creatures, at least to my knowledge. They're just jerks, but not murderers. That's what the code says. Go over and observe in Creative Mode. If you hear the "pew pew" then it's a damage dealing one.

KingLemming, any chance of you adding a jetpack in either TE or RA? It's pretty much all I use IC2 for at this point. I really missed a good flight option in Horizons as well. Most everything is too late in the tech tree, and you have a good handle on well balanced tiers.

On a completely different (and unrelated, so feel free to ignore) note, did you see that PM I sent you on reddit about Carpenter's Blocks and rotation? Seems interesting.

I tried this out in Creative, and noticed a few things:

  • In general, it looks like the snowballs they throw don't "appear" to be fatal.
  • However, when two or more Blizzs get in a fight with one another, and there are cows caught in the crossfire - cows DO die from Blizz fire.
I'll do some more tests - but I guess my followup question is - will there be a fix for Blizz's spawning in areas that are properly lit? (Per the F7 indicators) Because I don't mind building a barn, but when the Blizz spawn inside the barn and start tearing it up - it's not fun. (I'm playing DW20 1.0.7 with TE3 b10a.)

pretty sure from how i've heard t they only spawn in places where snow can fall, so if you have a roof they shouldnt be able to spawn in your barn

Mekanism has a jetpack :) other than the high number of particles, it is pretty good

Am I derping horrendously, or is there something up with the Cyclic Assembler (playing DW 1.0.7 so TE 3.0.0.b10 I think) ?

I've placed the assembler, created a blank schematic and placed that in the schematic slot. Now I want to get it to assemble sawdust into compressed sawdust - I open the blue schematic tab, and try to insert the sawdust into the crafting pattern there, but whatever I try, the sawdust just drops on the floor. Left-click, right-click, with & without shift, tried other items... no joy.

Making do with a BC autocrafting table for now, but it just doesn't look as neat in my treefarm setup :)

Edit: not just me it seems: https://code.google.com/p/thermalexpansion/issues/detail?id=566

You need to write the pattern in a Machinist's Workbench. I derped around doing the same as you for ages until I watched a TE3 spotlight.

Having a strange problem with build 11. Updated our server and noticed that all the conduits and ducts from TE are missing from NEI, and the ones we had placed in the world are not connecting to each other at all. Wrench doesn't work either. Its like they don't exist. But the machines are there, so I don't know what that's about.

Yep, that'll be it then, thanks! So is there actually any point anymore to the schematic tab on the assembler's interface?[DOUBLEPOST=1387886175][/DOUBLEPOST]

You need to re-craft any pipes you created - remove the pipes, put them in a crafting table, get the updated version of the pipe, place them back in the world.

So why don't they show up in NEI then?

[edit]

The empty redstone energy conduit does show up in NEI. And when I asked for usages, it gave me this:

Seems like an item ID condlict with DenPipes. However why did the game even load then? Also I checked the configs, and nothing seems to use 20256. I'm not sure what's going on here.

New conduits/ducts have a new ID, it might be they are conflicting with another ID and being overridden. Check the thermal expansion config. This happened to me, but instead they were overriding another mods item.

Disabling DenPipes fixes it. Not sure what the conflict is. We'll figure it out later I guess. We weren't using DenPipes anyway. Not even sure if we need 'em.

IIRC, you have to deduct 256 from the item ID value to get the correct item ID in your configuration file. I might be mistaken though.

Hit "O" to disable NEI on the Assembler's screen. This is an NEI issue.

You updated from b8! :) Sorry for the inconvenience. As far as item ID conflicts - you have them.

Hilarious. I just saw Direwolf's latest single player episode, and the very first thing he does is address this issue.

I am having a problem with Logistics Pipes and the Redstone Furnace and I am not sure which one is at fault. I am trying to set up a Redstone Furnace to auto craft bread with a Crafting pipe on the top of the furnace on the blue-input and on the back I have the red-output with a Basic logistics pipe. Now the request system will take flour and send it to the furnace to be cooked up and the bread gets exported out, but it dosent come to the request pipe, it just goes into my AE system and requests more flour and basically makes a loop of requests. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

On the new DW20 video he clears all input/outputs of a machine with 1 button press? What button is this?

Thanks.

Crafting pipes will extract. Do not let the machine auto-output.

This has been in for like sooo long.
Shift+Left-click the middle button in the green interface (The one that symbolizes the front side of the machine)
