thank, you finely some one offering assistance. will i loose the month worth of building i have done so far?
You do realise, you don't pay for a thing for FTB. Your hosting service is utterly separate to FTB.judging from what i have seen you wont get any assistance. i am having the same problems as other with the missing mod packs on the server. i pressed the contact button and sent a message stating that i am paying for a server i can no longer access. the server had a ftb button to press to bring in all the mods, and no option to update the ftb pack. so now i am stuck paying good money for a server i have not been able to log in to for 3 days. i love the ftb content but loosing patience with devs that make the older version options that don't work. not good practice leaving your paying customers hanging imo.
Will these include all the 'missing mods' that weren't in the others? (like either Biomes of Plenty/Extra Biomes XL, Inventory Tweaks, Mini-maps, etc...); That's the only problem I've seen with the lower versions in all honesty (I personally haven't encountered any bugs....)Just a quick update, I'm finishing up testing the 0.5 beta release for 1.5.2 packs .. and once they're done and uploaded, I'm going to take some time and build a server release for each pack as well. I'll post something once they are ready.
1/ Biomes, currently no. If you do wish, you can always add in your favourite biome mod yourself. Will these include all the 'missing mods' that weren't in the others? Awesome - I can live with that. I personally really want EBXL 4.0 anyway (it's still in development) (They're going to add code so you can put a 'weight' on biomes (hurray for being able to tell the generator 'stop with all the damn snow biomes!')1/ Biomes, currently no. 2/ Latest InvTweaks is being tested.
3/ Latest VoxelMap is now added.

I will also take a quick moment to remind people, these are betas and not 'production'. There are errors, there are issues, but each release is smoother - at least from my testing and observation. We do not recommend any server use the 1.5.2 packs, without accepting the risks of using beta releases. If you are unsure, in any way, stay on 1.4.7 releases.
Nope. All 1.5 packs are experimental, as pointed out on the 1.5 Pack Page.all i ask is dont leave me hanging by releasing a version that is non compatible whit the previous version aka backwards compatible. all reputable software is backwards compatible with typically the past 5 versions or more. god could you imagine if window$ or mack os was not backwards compatible?
Then stick with 1.4.7 - you won't need to worry about it. You want to upgrade to the latest version, you gotta wait till it's released. I've worked in an IT department for the past 10-15 years; there's ALWAYS problems about compatibility. The backwards compatibility option only goes so far and works so well... There are tons of companies still using XP - even tho it's discontinued. Also, Windows and OSX are commercial products. So there's that as well.
as far as i know both ftb and and the server are running on minecraft 1.4.7 and i tried the lower version options in the launcher with no luck. i am not complaining about stuff not being finished. i am only looking for some helpful insight on a way to play the game as it was before the patch that updated or removed all the mods. Then stick with 1.4.7 - you won't need to worry about it. FTB doesn't write the mods; they tweak the configurations to make sure there is compatibility. So ie. Mojang releases 1.6; THEN the mod developers fix their mods for 1.6; THEN FTB goes to work. Complaining about stuff not being finished is pointless.
And if you think all versions of windows are compatible with previous versions? Just go ask your local IT guy what he thinks of that; watch him laugh you out of his office... And as for Apple - believe, they have NO PROBLEM at all, about cutting off support for older versions of software. I just told a friend of mine what you said, and even before I got "could you imagine" out of my mouth, he was laughing that "this guy has clearly never used an apple product..."

There are many FTB packs. From mindcrack to direwolf20, from ultimate to lite, and including the 1.5.2 beta test pack that this thread is about.as far as i know both ftb and and the server are running on minecraft 1.4.7 and i tried the lower version options in the launcher with no luck. i am not complaining about stuff not being finished. i am only looking for some helpful insight on a way to play the game as it was before the patch that updated or removed all the mods.
