    I don't think the nether portal in the nether always appears at exactly the corresponding coordinates (because those might be blocked). Check the coordinates of both ends to make sure.

    I think MFR itself registers yellorite under yellow.

    I don't know about the 1.4.7 pack but Yogscast Complete uses Calclavia's version of MFFS which doesn't use monazit.

    So, it appears that early versions of Logistics Pipes are now available for 1.7.

    I think you just need the blood shard, adding a blood orb just makes it cost less. Also, you can use a ritual of unbinding to take your existing helmet apart rather than making an entirely new one.

    Nodes can be damaged from being jarred. Paleness shouldn't spread though.
