As someone who has owned both vanilla and modded servers the main reason that I have seen is that people tend to get overwhelmed by all of the content that mods add.

Two mods have updated! The first being the Tall Doors mod by Tektor707. And the second mod is the Fossils and Archeology Revival!

While browsing the MC forums I stumbled across a new mod called Hungry Animals. So basically it means that there will be no more keeping 100+ cows in a 3x3 pen

If it's just for private use you won't need permissions. However if you want to have your pack hosted on the FTB launcher you will need to get permissions.

I would recommend the Blood Magic addon Sanguimancy and Archmagus. Even though they aren't magic I would also recommend Storage Drawers and Better Storage.

Another idea I had is to make a weapon similar to the railway rifle from Fallout 3. Maybe it would be possible that the railway spikes can pin mobs to walls if it doesn't kill them.

I would love something like this. In fact I would love more small mods like this. Think of a rpg server with poker games in taverns or inns. Small things like this are great for servers or themed modpacks.

I think adding a steam powered drone would be cool. Maybe they should be refueled similarly to the PneumaticCraft drones and maybe they should work similarly to golems, as in only capable of doing simple tasks. Maybe base them off of the dwarven spiders from Skyrim.

Hi everyone, just curious what mods/modpacks people are currently playing. I'm currently playing a 1.7.10 magic based pack with some tech (Flaxbeard's Steam Power). My pack also includes Thaumcraft (and addons), Witchery, Botaina, Ars Magica 2, Pam's Harvestcraft, Hunger Overhaul and Archmagus

The Plant Mega Pack has been updated to version 4.00 for 1.7.2! However there's no changelog. I'll also wish @SatanicSanta luck with maintaining FSP.

Not really "new", but to be honest it's one of my favorite mods and I'm glad to see others also thinking it's cool. The 4.0 update should be coming out sometime this week, so look forward to that.

I've mentioned this on a different thread, but I wonder if the performance problem isn't caused by 1.7, but by Forge. I have noticed that my computer's performance drops with only Forge installed.

From what it looks like they updated the 1.7.2 and 1.7.10 versions with a bugfix so my guess is that this was the last version for 1.6.4, but I could be wrong.
