Ok thanks. Just need a good way to automatically farm those. I can't use MFR as that isn't in horizons. Perhaps the RotaryCraft fans work (probably not) or else I can use vanilla techniques with a block update detector (i.e. pistons) to harvest them.

Is it possible to remove the wooden block from a node? I had an 'accident' where my bedrock pickaxe chopped down a bit too many trees and now there are floating pieces of wood containing nodes. I don't want to remove the nodes but the pieces of wood are a bit ugly. Is there any way to remove...

I'm not yet a mod developer although I'm starting up to become one. I am a professional java developer, just need to learn MC and forge. A set of tutorials and centralized information would be very useful indeed.

The numbers are basically a result of some calculation overflowing. That's because bedrock basically has infinite durability.

Normally the autonomous activator from Thermal Expansion is the machine to use. However, the watering can is coded specifically not to work in that machine (and similar). It will break if you try. I don't think you can actually automate the watering can.

Agree on the 1k's. But the 4k's are useful for random mobdrops (like enchanted armor, bows, ...). You're not likely to get more then a few of each.

Note that 64k is really a lot. You probably don't need it for a long time. I suggest to go with 16k first for the items you have a lot of.

Put it in a partiation editor and fill it with the right items you want to store in that drive. Note that formatting is optional. It is only needed if you actually want to limit what goes on the drive.

Those storage drives are the first candidates to automate in your MAC :-)

Can't you upgrade them directly? I remember reading somewhere that you could hold a storage cell in your hand and then remove the storage cluster from it by right clicking. Not sure if it keeps its contents though. Make a backup before you try or make sure it only contains items you don't want...

Flat bedrock at level y=5 is fine though. You can mine all except for the lowest level of bedrock.

Then you should have plenty of materials to do this. Best is to start at the lowest tier machines and gradually go up. The handbook has some info. You can start with fermenters, grinders, gasoline engine, and so on. Later go to the extractor, jet fuel production and that kind of stuff.

Well the glimmers of light came up extremely high in the opis ranking (rendering or server, forgot what exactly).

It is not very important but it can give some indication to you if some mod says: 'This machine is very late game'. Or this machine is 'Early game ore processing'. That can give an indication to someone new to a mod if he should start working on it already or wait until he is further in the game.

I'm actually doing this in FTB Horizons.

Actually it depends a bit on the mods you have but late game does indeed resemble creative a lot. In my late game single player I can fly like in creative, I barely get any damage from mobs. I can swim in lava. I can basically go afk in a room full of mobs. So yes, very much like creative :-)
