Hello guys. So i have a question about applied energetics mod's ME system. Is there a way to transfer items from drive to drive quickly? coz i made 1 and 4k drives in the beggining of building my ME system and i want to upgrade to 64k now.

Put the 64k ones in your Drive/ME Chest and use the IO Port to import the content from your small cells.

Can't you upgrade them directly? I remember reading somewhere that you could hold a storage cell in your hand and then remove the storage cluster from it by right clicking. Not sure if it keeps its contents though. Make a backup before you try or make sure it only contains items you don't want to keep.

Put full disks on the left side. They will then empty them selves into the ME network(default setting). Once the Disk moves to the right side it is empty.

Exactly. The way I go about replacing disks is to 1. format it like the old one if it is formatted, 2. replace the disk in the drive with the new bigger version, 3. put small but full disk in IO port to empty out into the new disk, 4. format the now empty disk to clear its name and items filtered. Done.

i have empty 4k drive, now how do i format it?

Put it in a partiation editor and fill it with the right items you want to store in that drive. Note that formatting is optional. It is only needed if you actually want to limit what goes on the drive.

You will want to format your 64k storage module to take only items of which you'll have a lot (meaning more than 5000 or so). Otherwise it's just a waste of resources because you won't be able to store more than 63 item types in it. I usually have only one or two 64k modules (for bulk-quanitity metals and things like coal) but several to many 1k modules to store all the stuff I only have 1 or 2 of - or up to about 250.

Note for non-automated crafting: You need 36 basic and 4 advanced processors for a 64k module. I don't bother to automate the assembly table, crafting on demand just takes too long with it. Instead, I produce a stack or two of processors now and then, as often as I can spare the resources and foresee some need.

Note that 64k is really a lot. You probably don't need it for a long time. I suggest to go with 16k first for the items you have a lot of.
