How high up the Kardashev scale can you realistically get in MC?

I just completed my turbine generator multiblock yesterday and hooked it up to a lp turbine running water so I'm making 1,800,00 RF/t = 936,000,000 watts which puts me at 0.3.

Mobs Very Laggy in Infinity 1.10.1

Due to my killing of the server yesterday, we decided to take the opportunity to update from Infinity 1.5 to 1.10.1. We remove IC2, Hats, and Railcraft among a few others and add Ancient Warfare, RoC/ReC/ElectriC, Mekanism, and MmmMmmMmmMmm but nothing else major. Well all of a sudden mobs are...

I Derp, You Derp, We all Derp, What's your's?

I crashed our server yesterday by putting a RotaryCraft woodcutter in front of an MFR mega rubber tree. Technically the world didn't die until I turned on the industrial coil powering it but...don't do that.

    [ReactorCraft] Fission on a Server?

Let me start by saying I've read through the ReC change logs and am running the latest version as of starting this thread. That said there are a few things that I just don't understand that I'm hopeful some of you can help me with and hopefully @Reika can keep this accurate. For months now any...

How would you power a large player-run city without the use of Big Reactors and Tesseracts?

You could build a super insanely huge HTGR from ReactorCraft and make cubic light years of hot CO2 gas. While you could just pipe that around the city it would be cooler to pack it into bedrockium drums and put those into DSU's. When you log into the server you get 1 filled DSU of bedrockium...

How would you power a large player-run city without the use of Big Reactors and Tesseracts?

    2^22 (4,194,304) watts converts to 8,065 RF/t using a rotational dynamo. 250GW then converts to 480,000,000 RF/t.

No worries! It was admittedly awkward diction. :)

Actually, I said I don't doubt that you are right. As you pointed out, IE was added in 1.10.1 and we are many versions behind which is why we choose to add it manually to our sever.

I don't doubt you are right; we are playing 1.5.1 and had to add it to that version. I assume it has been added to subsequent versions?

    Linux users help

I rent a 8GB server from Shockbyte and when there are four of us on, our RAM usage climbs to around 2.5GB on the server. We run FTB Infinity + RoC/ReC/ElectriC + Immersive Engineering + Ancient Warfare and we are around early mid game so none of our bases is near as big as it will be. Hope...

    A good thinker's hammer?

I prefer shiny metal (platinum) to manyullyn for tool heads and plates and pink slime for handles.

    Help optimizing my RAM

I think your best bet is to find a server to play on. 2.5GB of RAM should be enough to run the client side. Alternatively/additionally you could dual boot Lubuntu 15.04. I can boot to the desktop in Lubuntu using just 268MB of RAM. Let FTB use 3.0GB and play on a server and you shouldn't...

    Question about ME cables

To the best of my knowledge the cables do not require any power.

Block which acts as player to activate spawners?

Cursed earth does indeed do this. Gotta love XU! I only wish that sticky pistons could move cursed earth blocks. I end up using drawbridges from Tinkers Mechworks instead.

What's the fastest way to get XP ?

With respect to that I cannot imagine anything is faster then the experience obelisk from EnderIO. I don't know how much liquid XP it can hold but it all comes out with a single click. It holds at least 150 levels since I have that many in mine right now from smelting RoC flakes as I described...

    Redstone Energy Cell Help

+1 +another to setting the maximum output rate of the NRG (energy, see it?) cell to match the maximum useful consumption rate of the quarry and no faster.

What's the fastest way to get XP ?

I would think afk'ing next to a vanilla furnace smelting flakes from RotaryCraft running around 1800C would be faster than either method presented above. Smelting 20 stacks of flakes gets me around 50 levels (starting from 0) and at higher temperatures that would take around one minute since...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

The steam lines hold an infinite amount of steam (probably actually only 2^32) so just give your steam grate a redstone signal to deactivate it.

What power gen way is your way?

Looks like a fusion reactor will keep five high pressure turbines running. So assuming this is the absolute limit and further assuming those turbines are run with ammonia (doubles the power so naturally this would happen) rather than water, we would make 85.9GW which if fully converted to RF...
