Zein's Necrology [pre-alpha 0.0.01]

URMAHGERD AH HERLPED!

So what kind of world gen are you thinking of? Graveyards? Some kind of undead biome?

In the end I would like to add some dungeon like structures and such, but that will be a learning process. Yes I would like to add a type of undead or Necrotic biome.

At the core of it I am adding a few trees, maybe 4, and 4 ores, and a couple plants and flowers and such. These will be used for the more upper tier necrologist gear, but you will also be able to use the vanilla stuff to start with to make your scythes. However it will start at the Iron stage of the game :)

I am actually working on getting the last details ironed out on the World Gen of Ores and trees developed and structured for coding.

This is just a small taste of what I have in store. I will have the full OP update by Sunday as I said but this is just a snippet that I could not keep to myself :3

A Pale gray tree with a pure white core. This tree of death only spawns in total darkness underground in areas of high Necroquidium concentration. This tree is dangerous, just being near it has been said to drain the life of the living. It also draws the undead to gather near it, making this one of the most dangerous tasks of the necrologist to complete. However, obtaining the wood of this tree will unlock the final tier of scythes and arcanum relique as well as the final crafting alters needed to access these things. The tree is very rare and produces no known saplings, however there could be a way to get them. Use the wood you get wisely, can crate Thanatosian Planks.

I have updated the OP with more information more details and some world generations. There will be probably one more OP update before the coding will begin. That update will contain a small amount of blocks that are being added. I hope you all enjoy what I have come up with with the assistance of all your thoughts and input :)

This site is just the tip of the iceburg, I still have to come up with mobs ;) and do more fun items. And all have all the machines and multi blocks to work out.

As for coding first, I want to lay out the foundation first. Ore, Tree, and plant spawns. Get the Necroquidium coded and try adding vanilla item recipes for scythes. Once all that works, I will move to machines and the power network.

Nice. And for mobs, what were you thinking? Demons representing each sin? Maybe if you have enough concentrated sin, you can make a demon of it.

That would be interesting. I would have to think about that.

For mobs I am going to be creating Skeletons based on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. And "elemental" skeletons.

I would like to make some news zombies as well. We will see, maybe other mobs to, but again that is later down the road :)

so much content and it looks epic too!

Haha thank you every thing looks great in theory. I have an idea for the Necroquidium I want to make bioms based on them... like a Necroquidium ocean that can have a thanatos tree orchard... ;-D not a safe place to be, and it would all be underground.

That sounds like it might be better in its own dimension Far far away from my base....

Hahaha, well they would be rare. Big, but rare. A great source of the flowers and mushrooms and wood... but a festering home of undead.

I believe it's in advanced thaumaturgy but there is some thing called an umber flower that spreads and can be crafted into black dye maybe that but for more colors...

I am glad you like it, you guys are the ones interested the most it she's so when it comes time to break the mod I will probably seek you all out :)

I usually go very deep into tech instead of magic (though I like magitech) but once I get to end game the most limiting factor is.... Red and green dye. So if there was a red flower that would slowly spread I would be INCREDIBLY happy.

So I believe I have developed a semi-unique research mechanic thing. More details to come.

It involves the crafting of "eyes" :3

Look really good. I generally stay away from magic mods because of their annoying research things or such *cough thaumcraft cough* but if you did It right I would definitely play this mod. Looks extremely promising so far.

Haha thank you. I do not want to use the thaumcraft style research, but I am going to hint back to the late TC2 and early TC3 research.

You will have the ability to research the "eyes" but to do this the book must write it. So you put the Scriptum Immortui in a, for lack of a better term "research table", with a bone stylus and a vial of blood. Select the area of research. If you have enough unlocked in the introduction area, you will be able to research the the school you want.

This is just a rough hashing tho, I just wrote this on the fly on my phone so again, a more detailed work, possible with some pictures to show what the book looks like, (skin only) will be coming when I can type up a more structured format. :)

Just a little proof, I am working on the mod. Even at work, I work on it as much as I can. When I cannot code, I work on block ideas and iron out a game plan.
