As a member of Team No Guis, I think that you should use as few Guis as possible.

I will do my best, some of the arcane machina like Exteritio Reliquary wouldn't need one. It would use a visual effect of floating spinning items, similar to the infusion Altar of Thaumcraft.

The Sacraficium Altaer is another one that doesn't require it haha

I know that these combinations aren't really "dark", but I'm sure they can be adapted somehow! I just want to contribute something. :)

Lechery + Voracity → Carnality
Lechery + Avarice → Materialistic
Lechery + Lethargy → Somnolent
Lechery + Fury → Relentless
Lechery + Covetous → Edacity
Lechery + Conceit → Sentinel
Voracity + Avarice → Parsimony/Desire
Voracity + Lethargy → [j485 has a better idea than my poor brain can do]
Voracity + Fury → [j485 still has a better idea than I do here]
Voracity + Covetous → Ensurient
Voracity + Conceit → Counterfeit/False
Avarice + Lethargy → Nobility (they want everything but they ain't doin' stuff)
Avarice + Fury → Marauder
Avarice + Covetous → [j485 better idea]
Avarice + Conceit → Ostentatious
Lethargy + Fury → Shadowed/Darkened/Cyrogenics (something ice related?)
Lethargy + Covetous → Dictatorial
Lethargy + Conceit → Misleading/Illusionary/Elusive/Arrogance
Fury + Covetous → Political (lol)
Fury + Conceit → Berserk
Covetous + Conceit → Otherworldly

And just as an additional idea, maybe you might want to turn lust to pride---wait, you're making this your own language, so that wouldn't help much, but hopefully my rambling ideas gave you something, at-least :)

I... love... these. They work well with the trying to make it family/dire friendly. I could certainly work with them, I will have to copy all them to paper to expand on ideas.

Work right now has me at a stalemate, I come home exhausted from the welding shop I work in. So I have been sleeping a lot. So not much development as of late but the weekend should yield more advancement. I am hoping that I can in the next couple weeks, have some items created, like the scythe and crafting. Baby steps haha.

I have been legit excite for any and all Necro mods ever since someone posted the idea for Nercocraft on the Minecraft forums. Good luck my man.

Sorry for the double post mods :-( on my phone.

I will try my best to make this a unique mod that is fun and inventive. I plan on breaking the Necromancy world into a kind of mystic science. I also have the school of Necromancy divided into separate meta schools. Flesh, Blood, Bone, Death, Poison, and Curse. Each of which focus on other things.

Some examples of that is, blood. It will focus on healing, through blood manipulative items, and teleportation through blood portals and blood teleporting.

Flesh will be zombie and armor based things. Bone; skeletons and items like picks, swords, and such.

There will be an implemented energy system if I can code it based on souls of killed mobs. It will be used to run the Necrological Machina.

I will try to limit GUIs where possible and try to keep multi-block structures a main source of the Machina.

Perhaps bone could be for machines as well. It makes sense in the infrastructure way. Maybe a soul dynamo that produces rf...

This will probably turn a lot off fans of, but tho I do love TE and IC2 and BC I do not think I am going to apply things like that in the core of the mod. If someone would like to add-on, it will be open source and by ask means please do haha :) I would love to see what people would build from the foundation that I lay down.

I want it to be more about the adventure of Necrology tho. I hope everyone can understand where I am coming from with that decision.

However who knows what the future will hold :)

Something like that, but I am simply a man rambling on about ideas. Maybe associations could have a "bonus", but dis-associations would have a "debuff" of some sort. Of course, this would lead to you having to choose a particular affinity for one of the schools when you start the game. Just a few ideas.

Think something like Water sets out Fire, but is absorbed by Earth.

I enjoy the idea, but maybe I should rephrase, or define what I mean by school. It is more like chapters, I am trying to make the school of Necromancy more than just the single book/school it existed in, in D&D and Rifts and Pathfinder.

I like the idea and if I could work out in, I will use it. However, think of them more like science fields. Access to Blood, Bone, Flesh, and Poison are initial, but using them ask leads to Death and Curse.

I hope that makes it a little more clear :)

If you could find a way to somehow have smart minions we make act like NPC's from Custom NPC's I would die. It would give us a "legit" way of obtaining workers.
Also masks, any Necrologist worth his salt soul has a Necromancer mask.

AI coding is currently out of my grasp.

As for masks I will be willing to make some things :)

First thing I thought of when you said mask... Majora's Mask!

But really, I think a hexing mask would be pretty cool, and Majora's Mask COULD be a secret hexing mask.

Just to think up a few types:


Hexing Mask: Can seal and release souls from it. More souls means the user becomes stronger, but give it too many and it may just gain a mind of it's own.

Spirit Mask: Seals a single spirit within it. (Maybe you could transform into that spirit when you wear it ala Majora's Masks' transformation masks)

Bad Luck Mask: Makes the user and all near him unlucky. Lightning loves you, mobs spawn more often nearby, random status ailments, random explosions etc

Find a way to endure the torrent of bad luck, and you may wreak havoc to your foes.
So basically while wearing that mask you have all those bad effects, but the longer you wear it, the more levels of Strength, Speed, and eventually Regen you get? Me gusta.

Micro Update
  • OP has had a minor update to the Curse Mechanic thanks to @the_j485 and to @PhantomRage for their input
  • World Gen addition to the OP should be added by the end of the Weekend.
  • Finally Coding for some simple blocks and some item implementation should happen in the next few weeks.
