more communication, more frequent updates, less "celebrities"

What do you mean by celebrities?

To invite Resonant Rise to be hosted on their launcher?

Personally, I don't see what's so great about resonant rise. It's fine on the ATLauncher.

I think it needs more modpacks that aren't focused on tech. Almost all the tech packs feel basically the same to me.

Yeah. Same here. I guess it's because all the tech modpacks have pretty much the same mods in them.

Before I give my opinion, I should state that before you ask a questin with this much depth, you should provide your own thoughts, otherwise this'll go nowhere.
Second, this thread is probably better placed in the General FTB Chat subforum of which I'm sure a post like this already exists.

Finally; my answer: Less focus on balance, more focus on fun.
I completely agree. FTB puts a bit too much stock in balance. If there was less put into balance it would open up the door to a whole new world of mods.

Personally, i think it'd be awesome if they put less work into the modpacks and made a map again. That was the whole reason I like FTB in the first place.

Ok how about ideas that don't involve theam having to put together a 9th 10th 11th and 12th modpack?
vvvvvv I suggested this which i though was an amazing idea vvvvvv
a map that has a "cheat sheet" book/books explaining every thing you can do with there primary packs, like ultimate, unleashed, and monster. for new comers.
there was also the muffin thing....:p

Slow is the one that makes the map. Not the FTB Team. And I am still not sure where people keep getting this whole "all the packs are about balance" thing. Only MF is incredibly picky about balance.

I honestly didn't read the whole announcement. I thought the forums would become a subset of MCF?

By subset you will have the same account info for both sites iirc, but we want to keep our site our site. If possible. MCF mods won't be modding ftb and vise versa.
I don't really even want the account migration, if we can avoid that, but that's not ultimately my decision.

We want a mascot! We want a mascot! We want a mascot!

No seriously, tekkit has one, why can't we?

Oh yeah, more third party packs in the launcher, some of them deserve more credit IMO.

And everyone wants that FTB Launcher v.2.0.0 of course.

Packs geared towards more diverse game modes. Maybe even some self enforced rules to progression and purpose. Feels like everything is a "build the machines" pack. Something like "make a zoo", "build a city", or "tower defense". I mean it is a sandbox game, but having a purpose would IMO enhance the experience for some.

Good to know. The MCF crowd is not really my cup of tea. I don't use ftb packs or the launcher but I do like the community.

Keep in mind, I haven't been privy to the actual partnership agreement, but this is how I understand it all from a few discussions with lex and slow.
I just enjoy building packs for the community, and by far I've enjoyed doing it much more with FTB than in the private sector.
