Basically what CarbonBasedGhost said. You need to get permission to use an adfly link. There have been people who make their own adfly link to other people's mods or resource packs and this rule prevents it. There might be other reasons, but that's the main reason I can remember

- Added Ring of Ender Disjunction.
- Added new block and item to allow detection and counting of entities (animals, monsters, etc.).
- Added Crystalline Brain: Earth.
- Having a shattered avarice pearl in your inventory now makes enderman spawns more likely wherever skeletons, zombies, spiders, or creepers naturally spawn.
- Research progression hint made more blatant in Greedy Chest's Thaumonomicon entry.
- Made hungry/finical maw a little faster to remove with a pickaxe.
- Adjusted recipe for golem linking bell.

  • Some lamp glow fixes

  • Fixed a dupe bug
  • Ore tool levels and hardness tweaked
  • Sickle no longer acts like a spade on grass and also treats lily pads as a special case, it will only harvest lily pads when you click a lily pad and won't harvest lily pads if you click something else.
  • Synchronizer added
  • Config option added for tube caching behaviour
  • Several other rendering issues fixed

What is the reasoning behind this rule?

It was a limited rule aimed at people trying to rehost texturepacks and even server links and config packs behind adfly. We broadened it due to complaints about adfly serving up malware/viruses. Now its just a flat, "No adfly links on the forums" CurseForge, Dropbox etc type links are fine.[DOUBLEPOST=1408260973][/DOUBLEPOST]
That would also then necessitate a total ban on all url shorteners - sometimes a necessity - and of links whose text does not match the hyperlink.

We try. We don't catch all of them. But people that get caught doing that get banned. (Not the adfly part, the fake link part)
