My current power room:

2014-04-12_01.33.00.png

Each bay is making around 750 RF, for a total of nearly 2250 RF. Going to swap with a HTG later i think.

Its a major headache for me, but I refuse to use hydroelectrics unless I can find a legitimate huge waterfall, which is never. Its too easy to just create an infinite power supply with a single bucket of water.

But its so much harder to get by in Horizons without it :)

You could always build a Hoover Dam structure, to make it less 'cheaty'. In the world I'm in, I actually found an awesome canyon and thought right away: "I gotta make Hoover Dam here." I haven't gotten around it yet though, because the place is far away from my base, but it was perfect for just that.

Bee Power!(2 Refined Bees ready, only 1 running right now which is keeping up no problem with this, and the 8 full drums I have off to the side as backup.)

(just started getting this setup, so I have about 20'ish Compression Dynamo's right now.)

I'm currently moving my power gen to a new base, my old one is an absolutely atrocious mess. My powergen currently consists of 20 odd magmatic dynamos sitting outside.

And here I am, still procrastinating.
My tree farm is already up but I just keep putting the project for making RailCraft's steam boilers and Big Reactors' Turbines off... :(

I'm the same; every night I plan to tackle a fission reactor project, and get sidelined on silly things, like cleaning up after a meteor shower.

I'll have to take pictures later, I somehow lost them...

but the end result of my BigReactor's current setup

I don't normally run it full bore like that. Thanks to the awesome @whd23 I have a program that determines the best rf/t per mb, and runs it until the buffer is full, then shuts it down until it's at 10% buffer, and does it again. It's much more fuel effecient than what's shown in the picture above...but can certainly handle any power surges I may need.

Ballpark figure on how big that reactor is?

7x7x48 (our server runs with x2 modifier), uses an X rod formation (5 rods), diamond blocks between the rods and liquid ender around the perimeter. Only the top 7x7x7 portion can be seen from the power room, the rest in underneath.[DOUBLEPOST=1398261946][/DOUBLEPOST]
200 kRF/t not bad. So how do you transmit that power?

You rang?

I overbuilt a Big Reactor (passive cooled) on the Volition Gaming server which runs flat out at:

at more conservative fuel consumption:

It's 20x20x12 outside dimension with liquid ender cooling. I have no use for the power, it's just that @Staxed kept one-upping my BigReactor's output with his BigReactor and then things got a little crazy. IIRC it took 120 stacks of uranium to fully fuel the reactor.

*gets some popcorn and waits for the first to have a huge hole where his/her reactor used to be. May be waiting a long time*

that's ok Bill...because I'm not done one-upping you yet :D

Yeah, I've been side-lined with some Agrarian Skies fun; my left pinkie is sore from pressing shift for hours on end.

But: digi-miner in silk touch mode, plus RotaryCraft 5x processing allows for some enormous reactor builds!
