Today I learned that when it rains in Infinity modpack, the rain will drip thru half-slabs. Today I learned using half-slabs for a roof is a poor design decision.

I don't remember this happening before. It's not standing water on the roof dripping thru, it's the raindrops going right thru the slabs. Really?

Oh, you're 30m away from land? I'm just gonna shatter into pieces here, you have to swim the remaining distance :p
If you have IC2 in the pack you could make the Carbon Fibre Canoe. I have not tried it myself but apparently it cannot be broken.
Or the Rubber Dinghy that when broken can be repaired with a single piece of rubber.

Doesn't fix the horrible horrible mechanics of the boats I am sure.

What's the mod that adds the speedboat? Those things are awesome. I think it might be Mariculture. They also have the advantage that when you break them, you get two of them. And if you have looting on your sword, you get three!
Lol
that doesn't sound like it's intentional

Up til now, I've only played around with RotaryCraft in creative, back in 164. I'm planning to play with it seriously in 1.7.10.

I thought that it had three ore machines -- a simple doubler, the 3-times with additions grinder, and the 5-times with late-game extras, the extractor.

Today I learned that it only has the grinder and extractor, it does not have a simple doubler.

instead of a simple doubler it has a simple tripler. (ore+power)
don't stop at just rotarycraft! get reactorcraft, as well. :D

also: don't bother trying to speed run bedrock tools. they will only be available at a specific tier. just play and have fun.

I was surprised and a bit sad that RoC didn't make it into Infinity. Some very fun builds in Monster used RoC. I've considered trying a SSP playthrough with just RoC, TC, and maybe Botainia (loving what little I've played with it so far). I can only think that RoC provides too many cross mod exploits to be worthwhile to blend in. On its own, its great and balanced, but given even one or two of the other major mods, and things escelate ridiculously.

Yesterday someone on my Infinity server told me that if you let an enderman pick up a block, then capture it with a safari net and place the net into a MFR auto-spawner, every enderman that spawns will be carrying that block and will drop it when killed.

Normally I just shrug at people's comments, but this one make my eyes get a bit wide... still building my auto-spawner setup to check this exploit out. Could be VERY valuable indeed if true, so long as I can get an enderman to pick up something containing Iridium. (big grin)

I'm a tiny bit surprised myself. Normally his rigid stance on modtweaking makes it impossible to put his mods into balanced packs but Infinity isn't an uber-balanced pack to begin with. It would have worked fine in there.

Actually I already figured out a more reliable dupe glitch. >_>

Only if it works. :D And also, he reminded me that he didn't think endermen can pick up something like a block of iron... so I'm not gonna jump for joy just yet - I'm thinking maybe it could pick up an Iridium Ore block however, which I just happen to have thanks to the miracle moment when I flew straight into a Nether Iridium Ore while flying around in the nether. It smelts into two "overworld" Iridium ore blocks, so I'm ready to test it out soon!

Do they pick up dropped things? (Entities? I dunno)
I mean I see zombies pick up random objects sometimes, so I wonder if this could apply to any mob if you throw a piece of iridium in front of it.

Meanie. But yeah, don't say it in public like I just did, otherwise it will probably go away in the future. :)
I'm debating whether or not to report it actually, the only problem is that it involves a machine that I really like and I don't want to lose it. It is actually how I found it in the first place.

Not sure about Enderman, but this was possible with zombies for a while back in 1.6.4. You had to use Spawn Exact Copy, and it was patched out before 1.7 was the new hotness. I have a feeling getting a desidered block into an Enderman's hands would be much more difficult than it was a zombie.

I doubt Enderman picks up anything else but basic blocks. I mean, I build my enderman spawner housing with cobblestones...

I believe the patch that fixed the zombies from spawning with exact same expensive gear that you fed them also fixed the endermen exploit. I seem to remember something about people managing to get endermen to pick up containers of items or something.

I found out that you can do the activation ritual on the roof of the nether and that Bibliocraft clocks work in the nether. (Also, Turtles can tell time in the nether too.) I learned this the other day though.

I finally learned the value of Bedrockium Drums. One block (the drum) can take the place of 3 full-sized Railcraft Steel Tanks, which are each 9x9x8=648 blocks of volume. So one block can hold as much liquid as 1944 blocks if I did the math right. I know I'm late to the party with this "big news", but it still amazes me. I'm a creature of habit and always built big huge "tank farms"... but no more. Just run that quarry until you have the diamonds and cobble to make a drum.
