I noticed that I'm sitting here at work browsing through this thread to pass the time, and naturally kind of glazing over some things in a bit of a trance.

Until I see anyone with a creeper in their avatar, when I instinctively wake up and get ready to deal with it, before realizing I'm reading an internet forum, not playing Minecraft.

The image of a Creeper is officially accepted into my subconscious as a major threat.

Same goes with anything resembling this:

Was listening to some music that had some background thing that resembled part of this a little while playing Minecraft. Had to stop because it was getting on my nerves..

My friend uses the creeper hiss as his text message sound. Sometimes when we're playing together, I send him a few texts just to hear him panic over TeamSpeak.

I discovered something rather handy about the Actually Additions Empowerer when making the top tier canola seeds:

When set up using hoppers to input items into the Empowerer itself and the 4 item pedestals, I can also have a hopper on the underside of the Empowerer attached to an inventory and the hopper does not pull out the unfinished crystallised canola seeds - so basically, I dump a stack of canola into the 4 outer hoppers, a stack of crystallised canola seeds into the hopper in the middle, and walk away. The empowerer does its thing, and I end up with a stack of empowered canola at the end! I haven't tried this with any of the other empowerable items yet, but I suspect it will probably work for them too.
Yes, empowerer does not allow the extraction of items until they've been transformed.

Autonomous activators!

The possibilities here are endless! They can do anything, and by replicating human clicks, it should be compatible with essentially everything. I haven't even begun to see what these things can do for me. Right now, they're automating my sheep and chicken population while harvesting stacks and stacks of wool, but that's just the first of many many things I intend to use them for. I can't wait to see what I come up with!

Just be careful with em, the fake players they use can occasionally be the source of both outright crashes and more subtle bugs that are hard to track down.

Not something I learned, but something I taught:

Do not mess with the person who uses lava for lighting. (Considering I could have removed him from the white-list, he got off easy by discovering I'd booby-trapped my base's portal room.)

^-- I'll never understand why anyone would mess with other people's builds in the first place. Just can't wrap my head around it. Glad he got got.

Anyway,

Not something "cool" I learned, but definitely a lesson. Be VERY careful with diamond builder's wands! I was lining a ceiling with thickened glass the other day, and when I was on the final stretch, I accidentally clicked on the top of it, immediately placing 4 stacks of thickened glass on top of the ceiling. It took me like 15 minutes to undo it.

This was the short version, I actually did it three times, lol.

This reminds me of a quote from the animated Duckman show from the late 90's...

"Never tick off the guy in the theater who puts the butter flavoring on your popcorn" :D

/wandoops will undo the last action done with the wand in your hand

found out that the AA drills you can suppress the 3 or the 5 upgrades by sneaking allowing you to break a single block without removing the upgrades

Oh my goodness SO MUCH this :D I discovered it recently too, its really handy. I was previously swapping the upgrades in and out, which was starting to get tedious.

I also have discovered the joy of the Actually Additions ESD and Advanced ESD, which can act as side-configurable, filterable hoppers - VERY useful.

This just saved me a ton of time, however I feel the need to point out that the command is case sensitive: "wandOops". Had to look through all the /help to find it, but at least I had recently read this and knew the command existed at all. Much obliged.

i wanted to mention another thing. i forgot to, when i found it. now i can't even remember what it was. i only seem to remember it when i get to it again. Usually when playing through the start of a new game.

finally remembered. a few blocks of coal and a tinkers hammer makes for a obsidian breaking wizard. place block of coal next to obsidian. break coal. repeat, as needed. found this out after reading on the thaumcraft site on trapping hungry nodes. it stated their that coal was easier to use then obsidian for node cages. As it breaks faster, but shares a similar block hardness. I was thinking of how hammers didn't break blocks that were tougher to mine then the targeted block. decided to try it.

kept forgetting to list it here (unless i forgot that i did list it. i couldn't' find the note in a search though). strangely enough i keep forgetting about it at the start of every game too.

Makes for a whatnow? I don't understand what it is you learned/accomplished here.
Coal blocks have the same hardness (aka, blast resistance) as obsidian while taking less time to mine. Due to how TiCon hammers work, this makes gathering obsidian easier as you can place a coal block such that you can net upwards of 8 obsidian relatively easily.
