@Hydra, you do realize that bronze armor gives the same amount of protection as with diamond armor (except for the enchantablity and durability) right?, and you are starving of copper mainly because of TE world gen that's used in FTB, change back to IC2 copper and you'll see the difference.

Regarding the protection: sure, but you only need very few pieces of bronze to create armor. Unlike the forestry machines (some of which require like 24 ingots for a single machine, and then there's the ones that also need copper). The point is that GregTech needlessly nerfs a recipe that is hardly used in the mod it's an addon to anyway. I think GregTech would not get all the 'hate' if he would stop messing about with pointless changes like these and just focus on adding new nice stuff instead.

you need 24 ingots for full armor, just like for the machine.

and the hate comes, in my opinion, changing recipes/doing stuff hard for the sake of it.

That's my point. Needing to mine twice the amount of copper doesn't make the game hard, it just makes you spend more time doing the boring mining. Once you have a proper quarry running you don't need to do the mining anyway no matter if you need twice the copper.

How much do you need for forestry? 2 weeks ago I restarted my world to start with bees, and I think that's the main reason why people need bronze since biogas engine is not mandatory now I'd rather make combustion engines or steam boiler, honestly it's not really that expensive, you'd probably make 1-2 carpenters, 1 term fabricator, 3-4 squeezers, 3-4 centrifuges, 1 rainmaker, 2 refineries? and biogas engine is not mandatory anymore since combustion engine is easy as hell now (with aqueous accumulator), and the forestry farm doesn't use sturdy casing anymore.

I need a lot of those bronze for early-mid game since I think nano is crap, the bronze armor durability is not that great anyway. I think I changed around 3-4 times of all my bronze suits that's around 80-100 bronzes.

Actually I always ask about it which one was made first IC2 or Forestry. Then it's probably better for forestry to have different metal (or different grade of bronze) since their bronze are not the same.

He's not changing anything anymore (apart from IC2 and GT that change like crazy since the plate bending machine), forestry was months ago; I think he is trying to restrain himself from changing other mods and more to provide a config for change.

Why do some people feel the need to defend ANYTHING any modmaker does? Modmakers are human you know and they do make mistakes, all of them do. If you want to get into an argument about that you don't 'need' a lot of bronze for Forestry you can go and talk to a wall for all I care because it's completely ridiculous. Ever tried producing biofuel to power a boiler? Guess not.

Not about defending, the config is there, GT only change because IC2 is like that. Of course not, I don't use nlimited fuel like that, I thought you hate lava lol, ever try to use fuel to power your boiler?

I don't quite get the lava remark but yeah. Distilled bees give a nice amount of oil.

And when you're on a server there's not much of an option aside from using a limitless supply.

You do realize that IC2 actually doesn't really have a use for bronze other than a tool and some armor right? It's rediculous to nerf that recipe while forestry needs so much bronze. Even with the 4x recipe at the start you're constantly starved for copper.
Strange. What recipe did you use for Advanced Alloys before Gregtech came along?

But now that gregtech is here (the nerf in question), who cares what people used to use? For IC2 alone, you'll have to tough it out, but with Forestry, you get a bit of a bump. With GregTech, bronze is even MORE pointless just like what you said, GO TUNGSTEN AND ALUMINIUM! ;)

In the ultimate pack, the recipe for making the advance solar panel is irradiant reinforce plate which is kinda hard. the mindcrack advance solar panel recipe only require a advance machine block. Is there any way to change the config in ftb ultimate to change it back to the advance machine block?

Hmm... well those are from advanced solars not gregtech so you'll have to check

No, that's default ASP recipe.

Ultimate is using ASP 3.3.3, and Mindcrack is using the previous version before the recipe change. (will also use that recipe soon..)

Thank you lord I knew it was the version of the solar panel that affect it. I mean a iridium ingot is kinda too much for a advance solar panel, so I prefer the machine block better. Thank you very much

The author for advanced solar panels has decided to change the recipe to better balance the mod and ensure that 8 advanced solars more closely equal the resource cost of a ultimate hybrid panel. Since it is a balancing change the new recipe will be staying and will not have a config. If you look in the testing version of the mindcrack pack it already has the new version of advanced solars with the new recipe and it will be deployed soon.

In short this has nothing to do with Greg and his tech and is akin to other balance nerfs made by other mod authors.

You ALWAYS blame greg, even if you know that using a nether star for a thaumaturge's wand is not his fault.
