nice!.. i think i will use that, but the text is more in the way when you are working, good for a private chanel... but irc over a computer like computercraft was more of what i had in mind but its ok :)

An inventory swap tab.

Specifically: I want to have one inventory when I'm in creative mode, and another when I'm in survival. The idea being that I have a creative mode inventory when I'm setting things up, and a "real" inventory when I'm testing what I'm doing.

Think the old Z-80 second set of registers. (Did I just date myself?)

Sync ... is a lot more than what I want, actually.
Still, as a creative-mode tool, it's not that far off. For survival play, though, it's not what I want at all.

I guess it does the job for a test world; but for a "real world" when I want to do something as an op, it's not there/not installed.

Time for my idea :)
One of the most annoying things in modded minecraft is having a tool that is too efficient. 1 click and you destroy at least 10 things you didn't want to. To this end I would suggest a mod that added tools with configurable black/whitelists or an item whereby these lists could be applied to existing tools. In a GUI you could control which blocks had which efficiency with a white or blacklist. It could possibly work like the extra utils item filters with the player placing a similar item in some sort of tool inventory. Those blocks that were unlisted would default to the highest non used up efficiency so for example you could have cobble, stone and ores whitelisted for the high efficiency slot and then everything else would default to medium efficiency.
Other annoying things could also be made less so with the addition of white/blacklists. One thing I could think of is an item/XP magnet with a black/whitelist so for instance your magnet would not pick up cobble.
Tell me if I'm crazy or if this is actually a good idea. ;)

A mod that adds wolf-type behavior to Cows Sheep and Pigs and Ocelot-type behavior to Chickens and Rabbits when 1.8 is released.

I would love to have a pick that is super-fast on stone, and slow on other materials. Yes, I know about EU's destruction pick-axe, but I'm looking for something a little different.

I can toss E5 on a shovel, and get insta-break. I can toss E5 plus a haste beacon on a pick, and get instabreak of stone; EU's pick was two-ticks to break stone when I tested it. I'm serious when I say I want real insta-break of stone.

At the same time, I also want a fast pick on ores -- normal efficiency bonuses -- but very slow on stone. This would let me mine out ores without disturbing the stone they are in. No, I don't mean vein miner or connected destruction -- those are too fast / too powerful.

Yes. I like the idea. I'm not sure if I like the "lots of customization" feature.

Oh: Gold pickaxe, efficiency 6 (7? Needs testing), unbreaking 9. Requires custom NBT to spawn, but now you've got the "vanilla" stone miner without disturbing ores.

I know adventure mode supports items tagged for only destroying specific blocks; will those tags work in normal survival as well?

1. Gold picks with Unbreaking 10 still only have like 200 uses so I would suggest Unbreaking 255, efficiency 5 would be plenty fast but it is easy to go higher anyway
2. Survival mode ignores the canDestroy tag so it would break anything with the proper mining level, but gold can only mine coal, gold and iron(maybe not sure)
