I dunno about that; AI costs CPU cycles, and in Minecraft, you can likely triple the amount of cycles it'd take to handle it as opposed to a more sophisticated, but better-made game. Just make it so horses are aware of their own god damned collision detection, that's all I ask.

I assume (perhaps wrongly) you mean my post? Well, I posted as a separate topic because the mod I wanted was something really simple and straightforward. A mod that basically did nothing by itself. Great eh? As a result, the community has a new "tool" for custom packs.
If I posted here, it most likely wouldn't have got noticed among all the other great/crazy ideas. Since I've been on these forums quite some time and am known a little bit, I took a gamble with a separate topic. The last person I expected to respond was KL! True fact, before I posted, I search for other mods that could do what I wanted, looked at "mod maker" tools (gah!) and even considered trying to get a grasp on java but got an headache trying to understand "the basics".
TBH, very few posts in this topic really give enough information, or are for really complex ideas.
But, some people with modding skills do look at this topic, and the occasional mod is made, or ideas are used in bigger mods. Still post here though, as it can give ideas to modders, with a sense of flavour of what people are after.
Your idea you mentioned sounds a bit like Hardcore Questing mode, and could be a future feature, blocking crafting of block X until action Y is performed. Might be worth mentioning the idea on the MCF forums in that mods topic? It's a good one.

This mod that i am thinking of would be a nice mod if you want to add sounds to buttons and stuff like that.. like a voice or alarm that activates when player come to close to a base.. maybe a voice when you start a game.. like that g-man dude in halflife!.. you can make a lot cool stuff if you can add your sound to servers
all this could be in this music and sound mod..
of course you need to lower the quality if you want to use it on a server..
But...... griefers would have an awful lot of fun with that kind of thing....... at least if it was something you opened up to players rather than just admin
you need to add permissions there like anything else on a non griefing server.. could be a admin tool of course if its to annoying that other users use it.
I think this is mostly for private servers and admins but thats up to the owner of the server that adds permissions

Perhaps it's just me, but I've played servers where I'd expect someone to lure some kid to their base, representing themselves as a fellow bronie, only to drop the victim into a hole and blast him with audio stripped from a PETA video of an equine slaughterhouse.......

you know openblocks internet radio right?.. you can use every internet radio in the world.. and make a internet radio for yourself.. i bet you easy can fix a PETA slaughterhouse (and worse) sound with that if you really want it

griefers is always a problem but i dont think a sound mod would be anything worse than other mods when it comes to griefing mods on a non permissions server (picture mods, nuke mods, mffs, quarries, computercraft turtles)
Yeah, under normal circumstances. I just got the impression from your post that it was something you wanted the rank and file to be able to use. Yes, I know about open blocks radio, and in fact have suggested the author of crash landing add crystals of space related "atmosperic" stations. I kind of enjoy the idea of some desperate sailor stranded dialing his radio to random signal..... air traffic control, police broadcasts, and even a nasa based station are all available.
That said again generally I'd expect that to be controlled by the server admins, not the peons.
I recall this time years ago at work when a co-worker, on another shift sent me a photo text....... of a scantily clad young woman. Not sure what was going on, wondering if he was bragging or something I paused. Next thing I knew my phones speakers where "screaming" 'heh, I'm looking at porn...(repeated)'..... not a pleasant thing to explain to the boss....... and I could see some poor 8 year old having a hard time explaining something similar to his mother.

yeah thats the downside IF you make it so players can fool around with it.. somthing i find it hard to believe since i dont think anyone wants players to ADD sound to the server..

im thinking of spawnplaces, intro to the server with rules, different genre music on playlist, warning sounds etc..Admin controlled volume/use and with permissions for those serious servers
Would someone be able to make a mod that shrinks you down like Gulliver's but is compatible with the FTB modpacks?

And maybe a config to disable/enable new features, eg. Say I like the new water temples, but I hate the new armour stands and new rocks. Just disable them in the config, and they're not in game at all.
The only issue would be snapshots. The only good way to do something like this would be to go solely on actual version updates.
or simply just add a tonn of new cd's to the game.. maybe cd's that you can get from villages and stuff.. cd's with music in different genre so and you can collect them all! and brag about you have the hole series of your genre

You are right in every way I was indeed taking about your thread (not targeted at you explanation >) and for all you guys saying stuff I know you were trying to annoy me but it helped I was just raging a bit because when I first look it looks like nothing is being made srry about being rude. I too looked at mod maker tools and found mcreator not what I was looking for but a great find nonetheless. I can do basic programming in C# but I am too lazy to learn another language. Thanks for explaining minetweaker in your post though I looked into it and now because I am impatient I definitely will take your advice but with a combination of mcreator and minetweaker I am going to attempt a basic mod and "tweak" for what I want. This is my first attempt at mods and packs but I am excited for a "slow progressive" modpack based around minecraft comes alive with high difficulty but not die die then die again mob and hunger difficulty *cough* blood and bones *cough*. Also I love hardcore questing mode and I had it in mind when thinking of my idea but I fear it would be too good to be true to have my idea added. Although after this and minecraft animations I believe I will have delved into every corner of the minecraft community.
