I thought you could scan them with the Thaumometer? Or is there something that it can't see?

You can. The goggles let you see them without the thuamometer (goggles are made from two thaumeters). Though you still need the meter to scan them. And you can still see the nodes without either they are just fadded and harder to see and you get no information. Though since they glow they can be fiarly easy to find at night.

But the subject we are talking about is that the Dartcraft wrench removes the need for any of that. You can move nodes at almost no cost, with no risk, and no need to even do any resreach in TC before you can do it. So it basicly breaks a portion of TCs tech tree and messes with TCs over all balance.

There is a abandon mine under my base and one of the lucky finds was a builders wand which as you might have guessed really help with getting the outter wall up. There still is a ton of work to do and I need to get food soon as I am down to zombie flesh. But at least the main part is more or less out of the way now.

Are you gonna do anything with the tower design other than just have a huge cylinder reaching world-height? It looks cool as-is, but it's a little bland. Can't wait to see what you get up to next though

Crap....

No actually i did not put a door in. I just wanted to get the basic shape done. I'll be building a whole entrance way and the such in the front there in a bit for now i just break my way in when needed.

Ah h ah ah ha! Oh that made my day! I was expecting the whole grand entrance... lots of lava?

Ok crappy forum overhaul aside I started to get to work getting some decor done. I got a looooooong way to go but i figured I would get at least a door before you folks lenched me.

This is not final just something so I have a door.

And I'm working on floor layout. I'm thinking I will like the idea of tall floors going 8 blocks between them. I might drop the ceiling down to make a 1 block walk way making each floor 6 blocks effectively. But I might not since I'm going with no power I will have few reasons for sub floors like I would if I had to pipe and wire the base too.

I've tried filling that biome with dirt before. You'll enjoy yourself more once you get a builder's wand.

I also keep forgetting to try Carpenters blocks.

Lucky for me I found a builders wand in the mine shafts below my base. It has made much of this build easier then originally planed.

don't know if portalgun is installed, but you could've tried making those boots from portalgun.
I also don't know how they do for fall damage, but tinker's added some slime blocks on which you can bounce, it's made from slimeballs.
if they do negate fall damage you could've also used that

This sounds like a pretty cool idea, think I'm going to give it a shot.

Edit:

Ars Magica's mage armor boots have slowfall as a contingency, although there is a cool down period. Up to a certain height slowfall won't trigger, and the boots will simply negate fall damage. That might be tied to it's leveling system, can't remember at the moment.
