Ok more creative stuff... I warn you this is going to look really ugly. Working on layout is never pretty. But I figured I'd keep this whole showing the creative processing thing going.
So layouts if you want to have something nicer then a 9x9 you are going to be rebuilding a lot. So I tend to do a vary rough out in creative using wool. This gives me a good idea of scale. No this it not set in stone and this is all vary rough internal room layouts.
So the first thing we need to tackle is the boarding ramp which will connect directly to the cargo hold.

Once again multiple simple builds to see what I like.
Now to get a feel for height. Since this is going to be a ship it will have an outer skin so there will be an extra block. Also since it is going to be properly landed Its going to be up off the ground on some landing struts so I play with some wool to get a feel for things.

So we end up with something roughly 22 blocks tall. Counting the three decks their floor blocks, a outer skin, and some air under it all for landing gear. The blue is were floors will be and the red is were the skin will be.
So now off to rooms. The biggest room is going to be the the cargo hold so we rough that out first.

So we start with a 12 by 18 giving us 10 by 16 inside to work with. We also add a center shaft to the back for deck access. and look at it a bit.
Add some back end to the ship for unknown something (power maybe)

Then we rip it all apart and start over a few times until we get something roughly that we like

is this going to be the end of it? Oh no this is no where near what it will be like when it is done. But it gives me enough to get out of creative and go back to the real game and start collecting materials because I now have a good idea of scale and can get to work building an actual frame and stuff in the real game. Sure I blew a few hours on this whole mucking about in creative. But there is something I think that a lot of people over look. This time is not wasted. I find a lot of times people do not build new stuff or try new things is because they don't want to waste time and resources only to have it come out looking like crap. And in survival you don't want to spend hour crafting stuff and then end up not liking it and throwing it in a chest never to see the light of day again. So spending some time in creative you can play around and mix and match things until you got something you like. And the bonus to this is you even will know roughly how much stuff your going to need.
Anyways its going to take me some time to collect all the materials I need. So lots of mining to be done.
