There are many mods in this pack I haven't played with and it looks awesome. So, is the update removing the mods we get warned about coming out soon? I would like to play this pack but don't want to start it and have mods I start using disappear. I mean, there's a whole questline of items for Ex Astris and it's being removed and extreme changes like that are a deterrent to starting.

It's not that those mods are being removed... it's that they're being updated in a way that breaks their block-components... In the case of Ex Artis this means things like Automatic Sieve blocks will become a different type after update(most typically sand from my experience from other mod packs)

You'll need the mats, on-hand, to craft the items again(something I've set aside and saved for on my single-player world) and can continue playing.

Since their block data will be broken... Items like the Automatic Hammer/Sieve and modular Furnace need to be emptied before the update(something the FTB launcher will tell you about)

At that point you can dismiss the update and launch the old version... clean out Modular systems and Ex Artis items, Exit, relaunch, update when prompted, then re-craft the specific items you need.

Hello, i have a question: The mym-server (mineyourmind) has Galacticraft version 1.5.1 installed! But how do i get it? i cannot find the version in the launcher? And there has to be a way to get it because there are actually people playing on that server.. if i try to join i get the FML rejections u get when u hqave the wrong mods installed

Hmm, interesting. Have to remake a whole bunch of stuff. I bet Caithleen must be busy, other wise he'd be on here keeping us updated.

Episodes 8 and 9 are now online...

Is there a way to download this pack without Curse?
Because the download on this website is very very very slow (like 30/40 KB/s and the download freeze a lot)

Hello! I have a problem with minechem and refined relocation in galactic science. When playing in a multiplayer server, i cannot seem to transfer specifically chemicals(Other items work) using the relocator and module filter, checking all minechem related stuff in the module filter GUI works, but not with specific names, such as Cellulose. It works fine in singleplayer but not in multiplayer. I have restarted the server multiple times to no avail. Does anyone else experience this problem too? Thank you! :)

Found this pack a few days ago and it looks interesting but a few things. Is the pack worth playing? Going back through the pages I am seeing the longevity of this pack doesn't seem all that good due to the fact that huge game breaking bugs are being found, or about mods in the pack being updated. Another thing, I am having issues actually running the pack, I will post the error log if someone could take a look. Please be specific because my java is up-to-date, I have redownloaded the pack, and have done many other things so that is not the issue.

Well I like Galactic Science a lot, I'm on my sixth play through for my youtube channel. I'm enjoying is as much as my first.

There are not that many bugs that are game breakers. I can't think of any specifically. The mod creator has a recommended version listed on FTB that is pretty stable. If you play that recommended version you are usually ok. Yes, newer version do seem to have updated versions of specific mods that may cause problems, that is why they are not the recommended version to play.

That being said, there are a few bugs, as there are with any game. It seems to vary from person to person depending on the specific configuration to their system. For me, every time I play I have texture map errors associated with resource packs. To fix it I have to open the resource pack window and close it. That fixes it. But every time I launch the game I have to do it. It seems to be a mac thing. Also if I have a minechem vial in my hand and I right click on Ender IO items I will crash to desktop. I haven't heard anyone else say they have that problem, just me and I know not to do it. When it does crash I just have to relaunch the game.

To run a multiplayer server, I'm not sure exactly how you do it as I've never done it before. I know you have to rent server space from a hosting service. Mym.li is the one Caithleen seems to use and it worked really well. Once you have server space, you download the server version of Galactic Science and uploaded it (probably via ftp or something similar) to your hard drive space on the server. From there somehow you configure the server for GS (I don't know details) and then launch the GS multiplayer executable. I know Caithleen set ours up to automatically reboot the server every 6 or 8 hours I think. It was slightly annoying when you were playing, but I think it greatly helps with the game's stability. Its possible Minecraft or GS has a memory leak in it and the reboots help with preventing that from getting bad enough to cause lag or crashes. That is the general process, maybe someone else can help with specifics or can point you at a FAQ or website that helps explain how to run a server.
Episode 10 of my Let's Play is now live....

I enjoyed this pack immensely despite some of the bugs. The only bad bug I stumbled across had to do with the reaction generator from nuclearcraft causing a persistent crash if you connect any sort of pipe to it in an attempt to automate it. However, that was trivial to fix by deleting the attached pipe using nbtedit.

I have a question- Is it possible at ALL to go to the overworld? I have tested and found out that the Galacticraft rockets do not fly there, nor do nether/end portals work. (I know it ruins the storyline feel, but I just wanted to grab some resources or something.)
Also, I love this pack for it's uniqueness, but hate the grindy moon rock sieve thing. So time-consuming for such little metal. Therefore, I have a suggestion. Perhaps you should add some crashed spaceships made of iron and other metal blocks dotted around locations, it should speed up the flow of gameplay and would encourage exploration.

It was possible to go to the overworld by building a space station and falling off the edge and using your parachute to land. I believe in the more recent versions of GS it has been disabled to build a space station.

Arturio, Is it possible you could give us a quick little video on how relocator pipes work... and maybe a bigger look at modular systems like your furnace?

It's really hard to mimic or use these systems effectively when I, and possibly others, have no clue how they work.

Well I've recorded up through 14, I need to edit and upload them. My internet has been out for a few days. The next one I record I'll try to go over them a bit more.
