Hello! I would just like to report a crash! A nether portal also appeared in my world, next to the entrance of my base.
Edit: Playing in FTB Launcher.

Hey, I found the modpack on ftb third party modpacks and now im getting into it. So far it feels nice being on the moon until the sun's still up and I like how quiet it is. And I see you're a Yognau(gh)t as well so I'm guessing you wanted to do a modpack better and less nerve-racking than "Blastoff!". I'm excited to see how it goes. :)

Well some people call it a bit grindy. But its more about how smart you are. And since much stuff/mods are new to most people its not so easy to be smart.

Genny gave up on iron - raetac was swimming in iron after 3h on his current playthrough :D

Anyways - enjoy!

And yes, we are now a listed pack! ;)

I seem to get a nether portal every time I join my world? Well, infinite obsidian, I guess! (Playing on default)
Edit: Portal seems to occur on the location I left. It also resets my location. Is that because of a mod?

You can do as I do and just /give <player name> <item id> <quantity> or I think there is an option for changing it in the config file for the hqm.

A bit grindy...

This pack isn't any more grindy than, say, one of Jaded's Skyblock maps. There are some serious time sinks though.

And what's the fascination with propane? I found Syngas a much better, much easier setup to maintain. No need to muck about with Synthesis, item rationing inside machines, or how many mb of X-fuel-type a vibrant turbine needs per tick. One maxed-out and optimized Syngas producer will feed 50 + 39 vibrant turbines at max efficiency. One optimized Syngas producer can be kept fully fueled with one max-size EIO tree farm planting spruce [for mega spruce trees] on fertilized soil. Done and Done for 44.5k RF/t

Ok, I passed the entry quest (64 naq) into the stargate questline, and the followup quest was easy (make one alloy out of 2 naq). After completing that, it opens up 3 quests which I assume is the blocks needed to actually build a stargate. I must say, even with the naq changes coming, I still can't see myself completing a stargate with the current recipes and timers.

I started doing the math to add up all of the time and naq I would need to mine and process to complete the 3 quests:
Each chevron block requires 4 ring blocks, and you need 7, so that's 28 ring blocks.
Stargate base requires 4 ring blocks, so that makes 32 ring blocks total.
Third quest requires 8 ring blocks, so that makes 40 ring blocks total.
Each ring block requires 3 naq alloy ingots, and each of these ingots require 2 naquadah, so 6 per ring block.
40 ring blocks comes up to a total of 120 naquadah alloy ingots, or a total of 240 naquadah!

So lets take a look at making this:
Each naq alloy ingot needs to be cooked in an alloy furnace for 7,000,000 RF. From what I could tell when I researched it, alloy furnace cook times are calculated based on the amount of RF required divided by the speed of your capacitor, 20 Rf/t for none, 60 Rf/t for double, and 100 Rf/t for oct. Using an oct, and assuming 20 ticks per second, that comes up to 2k Rf/s. Since you need to spend 7 million Rf, this will take 3500 seconds with an oct capacitor, or approximately 1 hour. With no capacitor, that time goes up to 5 hours. Mind you, you need to do this 120 times. The only thing I can think of to speed this up is to make like a zillion alloy furnaces just to process naq, but the bottleneck there is making enough octadic capacitors to shorten the timers (constantly running out of gold for those).

So that's my analysis of the current time sink, and that's JUST the naquadah processing. These stargates require alot more materials to make, and I haven't really looked at the time sink involved in those yet. Not sure if this is in line with what was planned, but I can tell you that for a single player doing this alone, the amount of time required to do this is just way too high.

Edit: I wanted to add that one reason this grind feels less tolerable than the others is the fact that by the time you get to the point where you are making a stargate, you've completed just about everything else there is to do. My quest book is pretty much completed except the stargate section. It's a huge bottleneck of time and materials with little else to do while you wait on all of this to finish.

The numbers above are a bit off. I made enough naquadah for 40 ring blocks exactly and was 24 short to finish off the quests and build the gate.

So I just made this account just to say I love this modpack.
In fact, I made a Youtube Video about it!
P.S, Caithleen might not approve of what I did with the configs...
And more!

How I can change in confing? Im amater :(. Please write step.

1. Open "../config/hqm/hqmconfig.cfg" with notepad (or other text editor)
2. Find "B:MultiReward=false" and change it to "B:MultiReward=true"
3. Save the file and start the game.

Hey, I'm after the first night, almost done the first quest tree but the moon rock wasn't so nice to give me enough stuff to start doing anything. And I don't want to foolishly run get as many moon rocks as I can and sieve them for hours so should i start looking for gravel? I guess it's underground because I can't make it from anything.

You will have to sift lots of moon rock/dirt/turf to get going. My suggestion is to stockpile the turf during the day and that gives your redstone glowstone etc. The dirt gives rocks and seeds and the moon rock is for iron /tin/diamonds/emeralds etc. once you have enough excess broken ore, you can use the automatic hammerer to turn a stack of broken ore into a stack of gravel a stack of sand and a stack of dust...OR the better option is to build an obsidian generator using ex nihilo barrels and the crucibles on top of pure awesomeite blocks and then using minechem to turn the obsidian into silicon dioxide which then converts into all kinds of things. Just look through this forum for ideas on how to build these things. Good luck!

Epic, I have that problem too. Every time I launch the game I have to go to the resource pack menu and close it. That seems to reset them. Seems to be a problem if you are playing on a mac.

Ok, you say you use Propane, in a vibrant turbine? I can't seem to get it to take propane. Do I have to convert it to syngas firtst? I can't get the propane to go into the syngas converter.
