Hai,
Can Retired Staff get prizes??

If Jaded releases Agrarian Skies 2 It would wreck all of our faces :p

Edit: Do you have an estimate on how many people are competing?

Your guess is a good as ours. It's not a sign up thing. You enter with your submission.

Does saving the world from an apocalypse fit with the theme? I am going for like something similar to Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Likely not. The intention of the apocalypse bit is to have the player start with limited resources and utilize the abandoned or destroyed infrastructure left over from the event to rebuild. So it would certainly be fine show the event happening at the beginning, or even give the player a chance to grab some supplies first, but half way through the pack would be pushing it.

What about pre apocolypse, like a example unrelated to my pack is in Avatar The Last Airbender how the fire nation is destroying places completly etc etc.

Being a modder is a huge advantage... Me and @ljfa can do pretty much anything. :D
Well, I guess it's up to my team to use Minetweaker and all the other mods, then make amazingly super cool quests and lore, and finally win. :3

Edit: I mean, I've done some modding, but not enough to be referred to as a 'good modder'.

I loved the JamPacked Modpacks from the first competition and can't wait to play the new Modpacks for JamPacked II. If someone needs a Beat(Alpha) Tester, i would love to do that!

That is, as long as it doesn't cost too much time to implement it. Luckily, customization mods already allow for a lot of stuff.

No and no. This is post apocalypse. Surviving after the event.

Still working on official details, but that should be fine regardless.

Jaded has been working on AS2 for a long time, it's not eligible.

True, however the tweaks can be much more specialized and detailed this way.
The gap here is probably closer than you'd think. I can, for instance, create Thaumcraft add ons from scratch using Modtweaker, create new Tinker materials with JSONables, create brand new blocks, items, crops, foods, world gen, and edit and create world gen in almost any way I want and much, much more. The tool kit for mod pack makers has expanded greatly in 1.7.10 and really exploded in the past few months. About the only thing I can't do is create mechanics that'd require a new GUI.

There are things you can do I can't, but don't assume this gives you a huge advantage. It really comes down to imagination and determination more than technical proficiency.

Of course. "more specialized and detailed" doesn't mean more imaginative. It's just that we can cross certain barriers more easily.

My pack is coming along nicely. I got 9ish custom ores made with Quadrum spawning in the RFTools dimension, complete with not dirt, not stone, but dried up dirt, also made with Quadrum. I have started building the abandoned building you spawn in, but that's it in the way of building.

Ehh... The Heck with it. I think I will finish this modpack which will be easy to finish and put it on minecraft forums and work on another one that is undoubtedly post-apocalypse. Let's just say, It will be a hell of a good time.

Uhm, it's a fact. Without a mod giving you the option to do something, you are unable to do it. Our advantage might not be enormous, but we clearly have an advantage.
Alright. I could argue that you in fact have a disadvantage because your creativity is limited to thinking-outside of the box.
The biggest mistake I make, and many others make, is trying to re-invent the wheel. As my geometry teacher tells everyone before an exam,
Keep It Simple Student (KISS, yes I known its a well know acronym). Just because there is a box, doesn't mean its necessary to step outside of the box.
You could hardly do anything if it wasn't for customization mods :p
Very true.
