Edit: I think the problem was just an overburdened internet connection. Completely reinstalling the launcher fixed everything.
Mod Pack: Direwolf20 1.0.3
Mod & Version: Launcher
Pastebin link to console log: http://pastebin.com/Lqm8CZtt
Whats the bug? I deleted my entire Direwolf20_1_6_4 folder, to rid it of all duplicate mods. When I tried to download/launch the recommended version of the DW20 pack, the launcher successfully downloaded the modpack. However, after downloading the pack, the launcher appeared to get stuck "retaining modpack file: /Users/dvg/Library/Application Support/ftblauncher/ModPacks/Direwolf20_1_6_4/Direwolf20.zip". The console has been showing that one line for half an hour, and the "mojang" window still hasn't opened. When I close the launcher and try to launch the pack again, it gets stuck on the same line again.
Can it be repeated? Yes, every time I try to launch the pack.
Known Fix: None

Edit: While watching it try to load, I noticed that every minute or so, a window pops up that looks like this:
GrMf3uj.png

with the name of some sound file that it's downloading. The progress bar either zips across in a second, or doesn't move for over 5 minutes.

thats very odd, usually it gets stuck there for a bit then moves on. How much RAM do you have assigned?

Oh, now I'm getting a whole new set of errors! >:D
http://pastebin.com/8Zha4zxk
What is "Google Analytic Tracking", and would it be beneficial for me to disable it in the advanced options?

Edit: Disabled it, got the same error.
[DOUBLEPOST=1387068195][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, when I first tried to launch it, it took about half an hour to download the pack. Is this normal, or is it insanely long?

Mod Pack: Direwolf20 1.6.4
Mod & Version: Direwolf20 1.6.4 (1.0.2) and Direwolf20 1.6.4 (1.0.3)
Pastebin link to crash log: N/A
Whats the bug? Lag whenever I open GUI's eventually resulting in total lock.
Can it be repeated? Every GUI I open makes my game lag more, after a while it gets so bad the game locks up.
Known Fix: Restart minecraft.

Noticed more people in the thread also are having this issue.

Have tried allocating more and less ram in the launcher to see if it had any effect but felt nothing at all (Am generally running 3.5gb)

Have reinstalled java twice and neither did it have any effect.

Saw someone post a possible fix with deleting opis and inventory tweaks. Did not help me tho.

It has to be mentioned I did not have this issue in Direwolf20 1.0.0. and was running the modpack fully with nothing disabled

Am thinking it might be something I have installed thats having an effect somehow as the 2 friends I am playing with on my server is not having this issue at all. Am still messing about for a fix and am hoping I will either find one or one shows up in here.

Mod Pack: Direwolf20 1.0.3 (I've encountered similar problems in previous versions, too.)

Mod & Version: Almost definitely Ars Magica 2 (AM2_1.0.2b)

Pastebin link to console log (crash logs are not created): http://pastebin.com/DdYFnmHD
And I'll throw in another for no extra cost! http://pastebin.com/4LFabXa1

Whats the bug? To solve previous problems, I completely reinstalled the FTB launcher. After allocating 4GB of memory and re-creating my profile, I proceeded to successfully launch the recommended version of the Direwolf20 pack. From the title screen, I opened the options menu and set the video settings for minimum lag (fast graphics, short render distance, smooth lighting off, etc). I created a new single player world (creative, standard world gen, cheats on). When the world loaded, I began to get massive lag spikes after about 30 seconds. In another minute or so, the "Shutting down internal server..." screen came up. This screen did not disappear until I force-quitted Minecraft, and no crash log was created.
When I disabled ars magica 2, the problem was solved; there were no huge lag spikes.
Tl;dr: With AM2 enabled, simply opening your inventory creates enough lag to consistently crash MC.

Can it be repeated? Yes.

Known Fix: Paste "-XX:MaxPermSize=256m" into additional Java parameters, or disable Ars Magica (AM2_1.0.2b).

Is no one going to help me with my problem?
Try disabling Ars Magica. On the launcher, select the DW20 pack and click the "edit modpack" button. Select AM2_1.0.2b and click disable, then close the window and launch the modpack. This solved the problem for me.

Modpack: Direwolf20
Mod and Version: Quite a bit of mods
Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/zXemDJKN
Bug: I recently tried downloading the Direwolf20 1.6.4 - Version: 1.0.3, on a brand new FTB folder on a Brand New instance. Upon doing so it downloaded everything as normal, but upon reaching a couple of mods it duplicated them. As stated earlier, I was on a new folder for FTB and on a new Instance.
Can it be repeated: Yes, every time I launch/download the modpack
Known Fix: N/A

Known Fix: Disable Ars Magica (AM2_1.0.2b). It will work like a charm.

Increasing your Permgen may help with this issue as well, I have mine set to 256mb.
