There's now a fairly sizable dent in the ground underneath the tree, and a slightly deeper one underneath the chest, which is now flush with the ground immediately around it.

The chest suddenly finds itself a couple hundred meters in the air, atop a rather tall, but otherwise normal-looking rubber tree growing up from the center of a conical depression in a sea of rubber leaves.

I use magic to flip the entire tree upside-down, so the chest is now underneath it.
