Quite fun indeed :D. Trap doors should be added to the mob griefing list ;).

Hmm, yeah, trapdoors, and any type of wood doors. I think i remember them not breaking ghostwood and other modpack wood doors. Have to test.

The other thing to add to the "Me not likey, Zombie Smash!!" list would be any of the microblocks made out of glowstone. I'll admit to using quite a bit of those around my base currently :)

The problem I see with zombies being able to break too many blocks, is that the player will be very limited on what they can actually do to survive, leading it down the path of "only this method works". With the creepers blowing up to reach you and the zombies going nuts on blocks, you can't really hide in a hill anymore (unless it's reinforced and really deep in).

While it's meant to be hard, it also needs to not be too annoying c:

All it really means, is not having any targeted blocks within 3.5 blocks of where the mobs are capable of getting. It just means blocking your entrance with dirt, stone, whatever, instead of having a flimsy wooden barricade that mobs can easily see past. If they break doors, they should obviously break trapdoors as well, and if they break light sources, they should hate glowstone microblocks too. :p

Hide in a hill?! Obviously not playing with Hostile Worlds on. Or maybe you mean the first night? Zombie miners love bases hidden in hills. I don't hide in hills early on anyway. Too hard to get out with mobs just waiting for you. I like to get up on top of trees, build a small tower, then go out a block each way for a 2 high wall to stop arrows. One block is a chest to hold all items. Since death can stil happen. Easier to get away from mobs running over the trees, or jumping into water. Have a boat handy for deployment for faster getaway across or up the river.

Hiding in a hill worked perfectly fine for me last I played in 1.0.5, before the random creepers explode trying to reach you. You just need to have more than one exit, I have 4. It's no problem getting out. Hostile worlds are on, not an issue either. Just go deal with the portal once it appears and you're good. I've had around 8 portals, no problem whatsoever.

The way things are going mobs breaking items makes a lot of sense. You can build out of strong materials or you can disguise an area in native materials. I don't want to give too much away and spoil the surprise but I'd save micro blocks for interior decorating in the next release ;).

Hmm, zombies dont break glowstone blocks? I was experimenting with the layout of a blood magic altar in creative, and mobs kept breaking my glowstone blocks for tier 3.[DOUBLEPOST=1400170871][/DOUBLEPOST]

You'll start getting cave spawns as well, and larger and larger spawns of miners. So prepare for the day a Mr. Miner shows up with 20 friends :)

I know they can spawn in caves, but I've not had any issues with that at all. So far anyway, maybe it's because I'm often moving around the place too. You'd think I would, since those actually have 70% of happening with the portals only 30% (according to the config anyway), but I guess I've gotten lucky in that regard. Or I just haven't noticed if I got some cave ones. I do know I saw some in a dungeon I was exploring at one point, but that's about it. Not a big deal either.

Honestly, they're only really dangerous, if they catch you off guard or they overwhelm you. Else they're not that bad.

The invaders can be fun, i agree.

But actually, their worst danger isn't them catching you, it's burrowing into your base and letting other stuff in. Fun times when you find out you have about 20 mobs who have followed in the miner. The new AI makes the combo so much more dangerous.

Please can someone help me? My world crashed several times in a row and then it disappeared off the ftb launcher. I can see the name in the BnB files but have no idea how to launch it from there. The crash logs said there was a zombie invader and gave coordinates of its location...but I can't get on to kill the rotten thing. This is the second world I have lost this way and it's frustrating. Is it recoverable or not? I was making decent progress and don't want to have to start all over again :(

Okay here is what you do. Start a new world and copy the level.dat from that save over the one in the world you want to recover. You will be able to go back in but will loose everything in your inventor and be back at spawn. However the world it self will remain. I would recommend not going into the world. instead load it in MCEdit go to the coordinates of the invader that is crashing it and delete him. He will appear as a red box. You can also try hunting him down and killing him but I wouldn't risk it crashing your game again.

so was playing with some friends and we finally managed to get some copper and smelting a new pickaxe then we noticed this
3jm4bs
so how exactly do we get to tin or iron if we can't mine them with a copper pick?

You need to use it to "boost" it up, or use a mob head instead.

First: Always make a backup of your world! Just zip up the world under the saves in case it crashes somehow. Do that now, even though it's broken at least you'll have a known point to try fixes on.

Now, my idea is that if it's a problem from an invader zombie, remove the Hostile Worlds mod from your pack and try to load the game. The invader portal, zombies, and all of that should now be gone since the mod isn't even loaded. Then if that fixes it, you can go enable the Hostile Worlds mod again and start preparing for the next invasion.

Oh... and Make A Backup! :)

Ok I can try disabling hostile worlds but since it's not showing on the launcher how would I load it up? And I am a complete computer noob but I will try making regular backups from now on and see if that helps. I appreciate the help here and gave been watching yours and batch2s videos they help me immensely. I'm hooked on this mod pack and since it's my first go with metallurgy it's been interesting to say the least lol
