I never even made an energy cell until I had enough for the redstone one. I find that they are pretty much useless until later.
That rather depend on what you use them for. If you want to toggle the power on and off to stuff like BC machines, then the lower tier Energy cells will do nicely.

1) TPPI was made by a group of people who aren't the FTB team, they just hosted it on the FTB launcher.
2) No, it doesn't.

A 3rd party pack can get on the FTB launcher if it is popular enough. There is also plenty of packs on the launcher not made by the FTB Team.

What device I should charge Depleted Honey Crystals with? I tried Batbox, Generator, Advanced Power Management machines, but they just don't want to go into the charging slots.

Hi I posted a bit earlier with this question:
"I want to set up a system where an item pipe (coming from a quarry) leads to a series of chests, where after one fills up the items go to the next one. How do I set this up?"
.

I got the answer:
Itemducts connecting to each chest. They should go to the first available inventory.

Unfortunately this did not work upon second examination. The items just go to the first chest, and once it is full they just spill out of the pipes.
