Closing off your mod to being powered from another mod is perfectly fine, as long as you change nothing in the other mods. Greg, on the other hand, has a nasty tendency to try and modify the behavior and/or recipes of other mods to fit his own designs, which is very different.
XD i missed that part of his post. i agree with reika here.

I would half like this if there was one. Greg has cut that out now, and whenever someone brings that up, I end up ignoring the shit that is bound to follow because Greg is a nice guy.

Yup, I know it's human nature to resist change (hell, look at my posts in the AE2 thead) but we can adapt.
I don't understand the.... I don't want to say hate, but it's something like it, towards either RF, RoC, GT, etc when there are soo many other options.
This is why I play modded MC... Don't want to do something that way? Cool, do it this way instead...
So much good post :P

I agree with this, but I feel like if users need to be closed off from easier content to make them choose more complicated content, they didn't really want the complicated content to start with. I'm always in favor of the player having as much choice as possible.
I am in favor of
Code:
if(integralPartOfMod)
{
force player to use
}else
{
allow choice
}

I have to agree. Every time I have interacted with him, he has been reasonable and has listened to reasoned arguments.

I'm sure Greg is a nice guy, but there is still a lot of hurt and mistrust out there because of the whole GT/TiC thing. While it is fine to disagree and state that it's all in the past is fine, but it may take people longer to forgive :)
I respect Greg's vision, even if it isn't my idea of fun. I also respect your right to enjoy that vision.

Fear of a RF dominated modding scene is just silly. It's not going to make Greg or Reika change their mods. They have their visions, and will stick to them.

But eventually those mods will stagnate, and no new mods will be released on complex energy. And this is where everything goes to shit

must resist urge to ask........
Resist it!
