Loving the mod so far, but its incredibly laggy. And I don't mean laggy as in low FPS, I mean laggy as in how a MMO would be laggy.

When I'm sitting on my horse, it doesnt run forward, it just shocks forward every now and then. When I try to dismount it then, it just won't let me dismount unless I wait quite some seconds, sometimes its also the same on foot, I run somewhere and suddenly im teleported back where I was 5 seconds ago, or for example blocks not dropping when I break them untill several seconds later. It almost feels like poor netcode (which is amazing considering im playing SP).

Does anyone maybe know how to fix it? Using fastcraft+the "FPS solutions" launch perimeters. Computer should be able to handle it quite well (never had much of a issue with any modpack unless we really started straining it).

Make sure your system has enough memory available, this is a heavier than normal pack and requires 3.5GB of free memory to be able to play. what you are describing is a machine that is strugling with terrain gen most likely.

I have 8 gigs of RAM avaidable, setting it on 8 gig or 4 gig both yields the same results, I'm correct in assuming that I have to do this trough the FTB launcher right?

yes, by default ftb only assigns 1 (maybe 2)GB of memory. if you are still struggling you can see if optifine is out for forge 1566 as I have heard of some success there

But won't optifine just help with the FPS, my fps is fine, its just the jerky movement thats really bothering me.

Possibly, since you said the JVM and fastcraft haven't helped, aside from a pc without enough processor that is the only other option I can think of

Well, not seen that issue before, though it may be because of the interaction between vanilla and dragon mounts...can take a look if it is happening again, had been fixed before

As for the knockback potion, it is in brewcraft, but can not remember the name of it off the top of my head.

EDIT: I'm apparently having the worst luck this time around. Another issue, "spawn yellow chocobo egg, spawned a chicobo which was invisible. After giving it time to grow one of the two turned into a visible green chocobo, the other an invisible yellow chocobo. Right clicking the yellow with a chocopedia crashes with the following log.

I'm having some trouble trying to figure out why nether wart won't grow, I searched the thread first for "Nether wart" and just "wart" and no results, I have it in a room with LL below 6, on soul sand, and it says, "This plant cannot grow here"(I also tried in normal light level). Any ideas? EDIT: After further testing, there is some weird light level glitch going on. In this dark room the netherwart spread, but growth still says 0% To further explain, the light level says 13, in a fully enclosed room with no torches, and just myself(no illumination gear on), the enclosure is 3 tall, and underneath is stone, and the sides and top are oak wood.

The dragon crashing issue has vanished as has the chocobo glitchyness. Not sure what was going on, but it works normally now.

You need to grab the forge version 1566 universal and put it into the server.jar
Don't forget to disable "madhelp" on the server (client side mod, will crash if you do not disable).

That works as well and in this case is probably better anyway since it's a client only mod.

For future reference, simply adding .disabled after the .jar so that it reads "[mod name].jar.disabled" will stop it from being noticed. You'll get a message that changing the file name could stop it from working (which is what you want anyway).
Technically adding any non file type in place of it would work, but that's the easiest way to do it and the way the FTB launcher itself does it. (good way to note it was on purpose)

Actually, I will take a look at it. With the content update looming we are taking the chance to tweak some of the quests that have been problematic as well as some of the shopkeepers.
