Figured it out- I'm using a firebox fed with charcoal to heat a boiler (both from Magneticraft) to create steam for the Steam Turbine. It's a bit slow, though. One firebox, one boiler, and one steel turbine maxes out at 60 RF/t.

For early game it is fine. There are better options later. And much, much better options later than that.

Sigh. Apparently I am NOt going to hide disabled items in NEI. Damn it. I'm going to get complaints. Sigh.

Next version is coming together and it will be a fairly big update to the pack. Several new mods and such. The big thing will be the stripped down Thermal Expansion. You won't be able to do power, storage or ore processing (well, you could, but it would be convoluted). It is there to provide parts and materials for other mods, portable tanks and capacitors as well as some extra RF storage.

Here is what I have so far. It needs testing for a bit:
Release 1.6
Added:
Ewy's Workshop
Modular Powersuits
Player API
Open Computers
Redstonic
Thermal Expansion (minus most of the machines, dynamos, caches, strongboxes, and satchels)

Updated:
MineTweaker 3.0.10B
Router Reborn 1.2.0.34
Silent's Gems 1.3.03-140

Fixed:
Extra Utilities portals not working

Changed:
Added Thermal Expansion compatibility to all mods that can use it. Recipes for high tier items are now more properly expensive.
Removed added recipes for Enderium, Signalium, and Fluxed Electrum now that the Magmatic Crucible/Fluid Transposer is now available

Yeah, Hydraulicraft does that. i had it disabled but apparently in all the ruckus of fixing the mess 1.4 made that setting got lost for 1.5. sorry about that.

And hah! Just built the tier 2 crafting table for Chromaticraft and it is an awesome, awesome thing. Check my Let's Play over the next few days as I play with all my new toys.

Release 1.6
Added:
Ewy's Workshop
Redstonic

Why?

Ewy's Workshop is a fork of Steve's Workshop that promises new updates but hasn't delivered on any yet other than code refactoring. Will you be removing Steve's Workshop, then? Steve's Workshop is feature complete and we haven't moved off of 1.7.10 in a long time, hence the lack of updates EwyBoy mentions as a reason for the fork.

And Redstonic, it's another drill mod. Will you be replacing Super Multi Drills? It wasn't readily apparent that Redstonic drills can mine dirt/sand/gravel like SMD drills do.. not sure I'm sold on this new one. I rather like the hot swap of SMD as well, and it doesn't need an augment/attachment to place torches or do the hot swap. That and SMD supports Silent's Gems.

No in both cases. I'm keeping an eye on Ewy's Workshop. It's only been out for half a month and he has released 4 updates and development is ongoing. The better NEI and WAILA integration and improved config is already very nice. That said, I won't be removing Steve's Workshop. That would remove existing work from people's worlds for no good reason.

As far as Redstonic versus Super Multi-Drills, it adds a bit more options. People can pick which mod they prefer. More or less the same reasonfor Modular Armor and modular Powersuits, though Modular Powersuits is in a bit better shape than Modular Armor atm.

And 1.6 is in FTB's hands and loaded to Curse. As usual the Curse build will update first. In fact, it is already approved and should be live momentarily. Remember: Most of Thermal Expansion machines all the satchels, strongboxes, and caches are disabled. The smelter, Magma crucible/Liquid Transposer and energetic infuser are enabled to make parts and charge stuff.

Knew about that, I've been fairly active on Reika's issues page lately as I find the weird corner cases I tend to be good at turning up. Thanks for the warning, though. Others should know about this.

And you should be able to flat out delete the thing with MCEdit. If nothing else nuking the chunk will take it out. and anything else in that chunk, but as a last resort...

Yeah, I had to add retrogen to 1.5 to deal with the Galacticraft mess it made of the fluid registry. If you got the warning that the oil and fuel blocks from Galacticraft were missing, well, this was the fix. Unfortunately, this is also the result, the oil does not gen exactly where it should. Sorry about that.

well the problem isnt the oil itself. its the fact its spawning while the game runs. it wasnt there when i left for work this morning and was when i got back. we updated to 1.6 a last night so it wasnt because of the update.

Yeah, it seems to spawn on chunk load/unload if Galacticraft fails to find oil in the chunk. Again, see above about the mess it left in the fluid registry. the dev does a lot of things brilliantly, but makes some real bonehead mistakes. If you go into the Galacticraft config there is an option to turn OFF retrogen for oil. I meant to do so for 1.6 and, apparently, missed getting that setting copied over from my dev environment. somehow. sorry about that.

Be careful with Hydraulicraft. i've had to report some fairly serious bugs that make the mod frustrating to use at best and fairly broken at worst.

A couple of biome-specific config tweaks I'd suggest for the next version of the pack, for performance reasons:
  1. In Chromaticraft's config, reduce the density of animals in the rainbow forests to 2 or 3. Processing all of those animals takes a lot of CPU--and they're not really necessary since rainbow forests also multiply the drops you get from those animals.
  2. In EBXL's config, turn on "Relative Sapling Drops". EBXL's large trees generate in a way that makes some of their leaves unsupported. With Fast Leaf Decay in the pack, those leaves instantly decay--and drop massive numbers of saplings, which the game then has to process for five minutes.

Hi just letting you know I found a bug with Tritanium Glass from Matter Overdrive, in when you try to place the glass in world it crashes the game and wont let you load the world. Instantly crashes again. I used McEdit to remove the block and it was fine than.

This is the crash report = http://pastebin.com/E9NWgtFx
