I agree.Sven, you kinda alluded to this, but just an fyi for anyone else who cares, once you get into the higher tier Large Boilers, GT wins in both surge and constant output. May be true of the Titanium, I forget, but its definitely true of the Tungstensteel.
Q: What is the difference between tin and Herobrine?
A: At least I have seen Herobrine in the game!
You haven't seen herobrine?Pics or it didn't happen!

Going by these links:I agree.
In output GT boilers win hands down, both continuous and surge races, but as a primary source of steam I prefer RC since it uses less fuel... with a high capacity steam tank between RC boilers and steam turbines the RC setups handicap against the Large GT Bronze Boiler is also largely negated. But in pure Output per Time-unit the GT Boilers are way better...
Fuel-cost wise I'm not sure when(or if) the Large GT boilers are better than RC, but by the time you have the need for that much output the fuel issue of GT boilers are more easily solved with automatic farms for fuel than they are in the bronze era to early MV eras... having a 2 x 36LP RC boiler setup is after all an impressive 720L steam per tick, continuously... about 288EU/t depending on how you convert it.
It won't pipe directly into the hqm block when that block is selected with the current quest?Hm. Got back to some questing.. How do I submit industrial biomass from quest "Biomass"?
Aha, so there is some HQM block.. lol. I've tried to get cells & tanks, but never thought to find if there is some block. Lemme check..It won't pipe directly into the hqm block when that block is selected with the current quest?
I see recipes for it in the distillery and distillation tower. Also, can ethanol be created in this modpack?
yepI see recipes for it in the distillery and distillation tower.
Did a little math for a GT HP boiler, on a run of 64 charcoal you'd get approx 47k steam per charcoal at a rate of 15L/tick for a total runtime of 168minutes... this includes warmup and cooldown steam production, it uses 17,5 charcoal during it's warmup period.I just learned the GT high pressure coal boiler is more efficient than the GT small coal boiler, 48k -crop-
yep
it needs Forestry Biomass, which can't be created (not industrial biomass, which actually can be created).
Oh, I see; thanks. Kind of strange that it's a steam machine; but it doesn't need any steam to function. The charcoal pit, a new GT steam tech machine just for the purpose. Suggest looking at the manual for a description, although it's not too hard to work out just from the machine tooltip how to use it.
You can still make the forestry biomass, it took about 5 mins of digging in nei and the forestry fermenter is still avail as well.
Hm... NEI claims that biomass needed to produce ethanol can be created only in bottler, by unbottling biomass cell. You can still make the forestry biomass, it took about 5 mins of digging in nei and the forestry fermenter is still avail as well.
NEI has a somewhat small difficulty when displaying some forestry machine recipes, to get from the bottler to the fermenter, for the biomass recipe, you need to click around a bit.Hm... NEI claims that biomass needed to produce ethanol can be created only in bottler, by unbottling biomass cell.
