What difficulty level did you have minecraft set to when you did this, and there is a difficulty in the Rotarycraft config too, what was it set to?
As I recall the lubrication requirement scales from both values.
I applaud your numbers though!
I'm planning our next server, and considering using your configs. Our last one was a "poor resource" world, with 25% or less of vanilla ore generation. The idea of biome specific veins sounds awesome! Do you have any notes or updates?
So can you find rainbow tree saplings as dungeon loot, or do they appear in the world outside the rainbow forest biome? I don't have an issue with a player questing to obtain them and then be able to make a safe area using the trees to make a RF biome. I just want to avoid walking into a free...
Given they spread the biome when planted, the question is could they be left out of worldgen and only develop when caused by players?
I'm trying to find a way to include CC despite the difficulty of the packs I make.
... I may be faced with a server reset right as I got into Chromaticraft due to a logistics pipes issue.
@Reika, I know we've bantered around the rainbow forests being safe issue. Would it break progression if no RF biomes spawned at all? I think I've seen rainbow trees as a very rare tree in...
Disabling the biome would be great if the rainbow tree is available elsewhere. :P
I know I have an odd use case, making hellish servers. But a biome that is perfectly safe without effort defeats the purpose. ;]
Could it be that Rainbow forests are confined to certain dimensions (ie: Twilight) or that Rainbow forests biomes were not able to spawn naturally, but that you can make Rainbow Trees to eventually convert an area to a RF biome?
I'm trying to "gate" the ability for an area to be mob free.
I also thought I would repost here. Our server has gone through several upgrades and I figured out that I couldn't progress because I was effectively jammed.
So I reset my Chromaticraft progress and all is better!
/chromaprog -2
/chromaresearch -2
Could I again petition for a config option to allow normal mob spawning in Rainbow Forests? I'd almost prefer them twice as deadly with the ball lightning!
I noticed that too! I have high speed being pumped into 4 spawners, but only the edge one works when I'm outside the room. I have to be in range for it to run at all. v6f
You simply need many more cores. I was able to run one turbine off 1 heat exchanger surrounded by a roughly diamond shape of 12 HTGR cores after the changes instead of 4 to 1. You pay an efficiency penalty for safe reactors.
I had a player on my server setup a redstone timer that was reset each time an item was put into a chest next to the bore, so it would turn on a light if the bore was not producing consistent output.
They should emit a redstone signal if they jam due to insufficient power. There's a bug fixed in v7 where unbreakable blocks (ie: Chromaticraft shielded rooms) jam but don't emit a signal because it wasn't a lack of power.
I think it makes perfect sense. Upgrading in RoC is like a quest! You have to proceed through tiers of power to unlock new objectives. How hard would it be to spam 8000 DC engines to get to bedrock? (Figuratively)
The best part is there are multiple ways to get there, it's not rigidly defined.
