You used Mystcraft and created an unstable world, the decay will take over and destroy the whole world. Create a new stable world and all should be OK. As for how to create stable worlds, I only wish I had the first clue :(

I needed to make sulphuric acid, which requires gunpowder, sure it now generates way more gunpowder than I could realistically use, although TNT can be very good for terraforming projects, but thats not the point, the point is to make machines with all this stuff.

I didn't say it was anyones fault, but the free bit comes from the free energy of whatever makes the energy, which as far as I can see is not TE. I could be wrong, but TE in of itself cannot generate infinite lava.

An engine doesn't require an engine to work, because it is an engine, if engines required working engines to start work, you'd never be able to build the first working engine. The reason a refinery needs an engine is because its a refinery, and not an engine.

I'm guessing though, this make lakes and the sea infinite water sources, which may or may not be what people want when they add a pump to extract water. But certainly makes sense if as it currently stands a 3x1x1 pool of water is infinite.
