Did you break every piece down to the last block? I had the same problem and that worked for me.

I dunno. Firing up an HP boiler running on fuel displays a cheeky self-confidence that I think gives the game a bit more urgency. It's fun not being 100 percent sure you're going to be able to keep the boiler fed and happy.

You're probably playing on a Mindcrack server, which means you need machines to do those jobs. Blocks are typically made in a compressor. Mixed metal ingots are made in a rolling machine.

Getting back to the original question, I think a Steve's Cart with a mining turtle assistant could be pretty neat. The turtle could have a preprogrammed pattern and drop rails as it goes, and the cart could just be a big dumb resource gatherer that follows along. You could build in error...

Voice communication is a great way to speed up the process of making friends on servers. I'd suggest you push your players to use voice, and use it yourself as much as possible (and be friendly :)).

This recipe has apparently changed since the last time I made it, or the wiki is wrong. The wiki says you need 4 Ignis, 6 Lux and 6 Potentia. That would be 3 coal and 6 torches (unless torches have changed too - they used to be 1 Lux each).

The original implementation of tesseracts is better than any of the suggestions I've seen here. Just leave it alone, please. :)

Huh. I would have figured you'd need at least 3 ... but like I said I'm using powered furnaces (just didn't think of sawmills at the time and haven't fixed it). It took me six powered furnaces to make enough charcoal to reliably keep the HP boiler in fuel as it was heating up.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't use relays, I'd just use another router and a machine filter. But a relay is way cheaper. I'm mostly thinking of the heat-up phase of the boiler when it needs tons of fuel. After that the tesseract-to-sawmills route is all you need.

One of the great things about Steve's Carts tree farms is that they're totally customizable. You can do them in a straight line, or a T-shape with a Wye track, an E shape to use space efficiently, or whatever you want. If you put the tracks close together you'll get more wood, or if you space...

The more I think about it, you could easily feed your boiler with just one router and two tesseracts, feeding as many as two sawmills. Router pulls, ejects into tesseract. Tesseract 2 ejects into sawmills on either side OR has items pulled out by Buildcraft pipes. (I really need to figure out...
