I've noticed when the ambient sound lava makes is triggered or stops it lags a bunch. It doesn't continue while in or out of the zone but when crossing it, it lags a bunch. I have to say optifine has been a huge help. I wish the creator would have worked with the pack to make it even more...

Wanted to say thanks for the seed squee. There is a tall volcano jutting into the ocean bottom center of that map, just what I was looking for :D. And even without my volcano lab that seed is badass, nice find.

What I did (coming from vanilla straight to FTB) was pick one mod and learn it at a time. Go to the wiki of the mod you're working with and do any tutorials and read through the wiki while making stuff to get yourself familiar with it. You'll definitely get overwhelmed if you don't do that...

I know lol. Exploring just isn't the same without waypoints.

Maybe you have no issues to begin with but for someone with a less powerful computer there are noticable differences between the packs. The direwolf pack is causing less lag without optifine than the mindcrack is with it. (yes I first tried mindcrack without optifine and it was even worse)

I've got some balsa saplings in the mindcrack pack.

Pretty laggy for me too, the direwolf pack seems less laggy though.

This pack runs a lot smoother. I wonder why. I miss the minimap though, I'll copy that over. I hope it wasn't what lagged up the other pack.

Oh geeze there's a lot to learn about thaumcraft. I'm wondering if the environment status checks it must do is what is causing this to lag more than the previous version of the pack.
